It’s mainly cuz his portrayal in the novel is different, like during this part, he’s actively protecting the female lead because people that work for the mail lead misunderstand the mail lead instructions and think he wants to kill his ex so they actually tried to attack people that look like her so the second male lead literally in the novel is trying to protect her, but I do agree he’s still annoying but honestly, the female lead is also pretty annoying in the novel
