Yeah dropping this I cannot do it with this shipping thing. I hoped it was just for the Gl version but it’s clear the author is gross. The reason why I find it extremely gross is because I’m personally adopted (from a young age) and for some reason so much media (like anime) ships family members simply bc they r adopted. And it’s especially weirder/even more gross if the family members grew up together or gets raised by adopted parent and they become romantic. Adopted family is basically the same as any other biological family if they are raised together or a parent is raising a kid from a young age. You see whoever raised u as ur parent/guardian so it’s basically shipping son x father, it’s extremely gross to make that romantic.
the author hasn’t said anything about em dating or having feelings for each other, even tho i do agree their relationship is very weird. It’s an AU btw and IF there was romance in it, it will be only for potato and not for his « dad »

I really, really, really, wished that my gut was just playing with me. I was hoping for a pure father-son relationship, and I’ve always noticed subtle weird like tones when the two are older, but I always thought it was because the author was used to drawing BL that it may have bled through to this but isn’t meant to be romantic at all. I really hoped that was the case and potato is just naturally clingy and loving with people he sees as family because I do know people who are similar to that. And I’m saying this as someone who is adopted and I was adopted roughly around potato’s age (based on his walking and talking development), and let me just say it’s the same as basically seeing your parent as a potential partner. It’s weird and disgusting because when you recognize someone as your “caretaker/parent” from a young age, that is what it is despite biologicals because that is how you grow up. (Nature and nurture guys…). And it’s very obvious potato sees papa as that parent and it’s shown that he grows up with papa seeing him in that light, which is why it’s extremely wrong for them to be any way romantic. Guys I don’t know why this is a controversy or argument. There is quite literally undeniable proof of sexual assault and rape in Jinx, I invite you to read the story over because Dan does say “NO”. To the point he’s crying…if you cannot see that then I am genuinely concerned for you and anybody that gets in a relationship with you if you cannot recognize sexual assault or rape.

consent = both parties actively AGREEING they want to engage in whatever acts
it doesn’t matter if a person doesn’t say no… if they do not visibly agree or clearly say they want to engage, you DO NOT have their consent.
i’m not saying this as a critique to the story, but you have to understand technically the mc DID NOT consent to what was done to him. so please don’t claim that consent means you actively have to say no in order to not consent… that mindset is disgusting.

For the recent chapters, I like seeing that they are showing us another sort of “route” with Van but at the same time I thought Blaine and Ver’s story is probably the best outcome. She was able to get her revenge in the main story and Blaine always understood that sort of…”malice” side of her while Van does not. The side story with Van makes it so Ver doesn’t really necessary bring out her own revenge like she did in the main story with Carter. But I do have to say, I’m like wondering if something happened between Ver and Blaine in the main story that caused Van to regress. Van was relieved Ver was still alive and I’m wondering if Ver died unexpectedly or from natural causes, it just seems somewhat iffy…? But I’ll be devastated if I’m right because I loveeee Blaine and I hope nothing bad happened after the “happy ending.”

I had to read this chapter 847493533 times like I’m crying cause after all this time we can finally feel peace with the mother and I feel like the father despite him being a UGH i feel like he cared at the beginning and there’s hope for after this meeting. See Athy finally release her emotions after so much it’s just worth it. The uncertainty feels a little lifted

I only care that Cain got his happy ending. He was 100% better off without Jooin. Honestly I expected Jooin to end up with Yahwi even if he was pretty toxic. Jooin deserves Yahwi because they both were pretty shitty characters in general, Cain had his moments too but Christ did this story put me on a rollercoaster.
