the difference between leo and jj is that when leo was hurting jj, he wasn’t doing it on purpose. he’s just stupid and unaware.

jj is purposely trying to hurt leo, instead of acting like an adult and talking about what’s wrong, he’d rather be vindictive.

i guarantee if jj would’ve sat leo down and talked about this when originally became a problem, they could’ve worked on it. instead he just bottled it up until he exploded.

I kind of get what Leo's thinking. Yes, Leo is immature and not very emotionally intelligent (in regards to himself AND others) but...

He thinks JJ hates him. JJ hasn't helped this misconception with the way he pushes Leo away, and also leaving to another job clearly wanting nothing more to do with Lombardi. Plus, why would Leo cling to JJ when it's clear that there isn't room for getting back together, when everything happened so randomly (for him)? JJ knew that Leo was like this—he's been like this since the beginning.

I'm happy to get others' thoughts on this.

is that Leo is just a naive idiot. Like he grew up spoiled and coddled. I know people like him. They are not evil. They also are not bad. They are also not toxic. They are just air headed, but genuine and cute. They don't get complex things or dysfunctional toxic shit like having to be on eggshells and read someone else's every behaviour so you can mind read what they need from you like those of us who grew up in uncertain households where we became empaths (kids who had to read the room all the time in order to "behave correctly" depending on the ever changing atmosphere to protect themselves in a chaotic home with emotionally immature parents). JJ is a prick. He is a fucking toxic bitch. He is the cause of his own everything. Instead of learning to communicate throughout the relationships and tell his likes and actually have boundaries, he let resentment built towards Leo and is projecting everything on Leo. This is very narcissistic. You are the one who needs to have boundaries for yourself and abide by them. It's not somebody else's job to live by your rules. JJ has no boundaries. Thus Leo doesn't know what he did wrong, because JJ never showed him any boundaries. And now JJ blames Leo for not knowing the boundaries he doesn't have and never lived by. I hate this mf. I hope he suffers.

For a second there I doubted my stance always defending Leo, when he mentioned being fuckbuddies. But it really lasted only a second. Bc JJ is the biggest asshole out there. Like how do you get to a point in a relationship that you downright hate your partner. Bc there's no other explanation for everything he's done sofar. Like how can you leave your partner in their sick bed after having an accident like that and shove your dick into their mouth the second you see them. Leo is a silly guy but he doesn't deserve any of this. He deserves a fool like him but not a hateful asshole like JJ.

i love parody comics that suddenly become serious at times, it's so fun ??? oh my god, these fucking characters are so silly, it's all so unserious and stupid. just what i needed. i think if i was still in high school i wouldn't have liked this as much as now that I'm an adult and life is so serious, i feel like i just want something silly to entertain myself with

I was already leaning more towards Leo's side, but now I definitely am after jj assaulted him like man, just EXPLAIN why you're upset. Idk how he expects leo to learn or apologize or anything if he won't even tell him why he's mad. It's so incredibly frustrating. I don't even want them back together bro genuinely the best ending would be for both of them to go their separate ways.

I mean, to be fair, it IS stated that Leo is a dumbass. And he's definitely a narcissist. But you can tell he loved J.J. in his own weird way, but his only solution to keep him around was to offer up 'fuckbuddies' since he thinks J.J. hates him. Is it the best solution? DEFINITELY NOT. But it is his attempt to reach out to J.J. in the "safest" way he can imagine as the dumbass he is. No one ever said he was the sharpest knife (in fact, it seems like the opposite), but he was loyal and he was pretty open about his love to J.J. even if he didn't show it super well. Not to say he's in the right or anything, but from a dumbass's POV, this is the best non-confrontational solution.

As for J.J., he's trying to get Leo to recognize his faults, but he's going about it in a completely wrong way. Clearly their relationship had some issues, especially on Leo's drunk habits, but J.J. didn't say a single thing and then just breaks up with him as 'punishment'. But J.J. did not understand the level of Leo's dumbassery. Some people need to be told straight out what they've done because they don't get that it's wrong or are terrible at self-reflection. Leo, the beautiful idiot, clearly has a healthy dose of both moral ineptitude and narcissistic arrogance leading to an incompetence in basic understanding of the self so absolute he can't even realize he's in love.

J.J. on the other hand, has issues stemming from pent up frustration from actions resulting of said narcissistic arrogance, his own arrogance resulting from feeling special to Leo and thinking he understands him best, and a level 10000 anxiety that culminates in a complete breakdown in communication between not only his lover but humans in general.

One is good at self-reflection but shit at communicating, and the other is shit at self reflection but good at communication. And they BOTH are shit at understanding the other, which is why Leo comes up with stupid solutions like fuckbuddies thinking it's best case scenario, while J.J. gets angry and jealous thinking Leo never gave shit in the first place.

what yall not gon do is place all the blame on leo… if jj was feeling some type of way abt the love he was receiving from leo and questioned the validity of it, he shoulda been said smth. love is all abt compromising and learning. you can’t call leo a bad boyfriend if jj never gave him the chance to be a good one.
