After Vercike's partial backstory, I feel like there are more and more hints that Cain isn't as good as he was initially portrayed to be....
Like, he's the root and cause of their problems and the prophecy is part of some sinister plans that he may or may not have a hand in (i.e. it's not entirely by or due to the corrupt Aman)
What if this nagging feeling that we, readers, have about how we seem to be missing something is a deliberate choice to make us feel unsettled and uncertain of the developments, despite the good progress in Ken and Agia's relationship.....
Only time will tell.
Also, WHY WON'T YOU FUCKING ASK VERCIKE'S VERSION OF THE PROPHECY?!
- maybe they'll ask AFTER they did their research?
- IDK. My curiosity about that version of the prophecy is killing me
