Imo people are just overanalyzing it in fear that they'll appear disrespectful but as I perceive it BL is just romance that everyone is allowed to read without limit, literally just don't be a weirdo (an advice that applies to ALL fandoms) but I do get why it's a discourse for many but I don't think it should just be about BL but rather the romance......
