i’m seeing people saying they don’t want the grandpa to die, but like with the dream he had, it was like his time to go; he’s elderly and it’s a pity that he’s being forced to continue (that’s my opinion and i definitely worded this badly T^T)
Yes me too!!! But its conflicting as well because im going to start bawling if he dies too. But then i wish Taesun would tell his grandpa “its okay to let go” like they did in the movie before i fall. Grandpa just needs his rest hopefully Taesun finds closure before he leaves and knows his grandpa will be in a better place alongside his parents. THIS IS SO HEARTBREAKING! ╥﹏╥

One thing that has stuck with me for decades now (since I can't remember what it's called) was an article explaining the depictions of death and the reaper. Normally, the grim reaper is shown in all black like a shadow looming over or behind you.
But there is a painting (probably more than one) of a white clad reaper with the face turned away from us looking to small children coming for them. The article explained the specific name of this reaper and that this softer vision was the reality of childhood mortality (which we can see used to be rather high due to cultural traditions surrounding children across the world.) After seeing their child suffer so, parents would be more relieved when they passed; that suffering was finally over and their child was finally at peace. Just like some older adults say they would greet death as a friend instead of an enemy to take away their time.
That dream Grandpa had reminded me of that painting. The snake is in the way, yes, but more like a friend to turn you back from the edge. That peaceful dream passing is exactly what he deserves after living such a fulfilling life. As much as his grandson will miss him, he too has missed his son and daughter in equal measure and by death, he can be in the same place as them, waiting for his grandson's (and great grand children's) turn.
