Guessing his traumatic experience might have something to do with his parents' death?

There are many possible explanations. The old man really like Sen-chan and just used the "mistaking him for someone else" as an excuse to hide his true feelings. He was kissing that other dude for practice in order to please Sen-chan or to release pent up sexual desires. Or he really did mistake Sen-chan for the guy he really loves (the flashy guy lol). Which i doubt. I hope the author didn't fuck up this story cause I'll really cry. They would be so perfect together.

My hwart twinged with pain when Kouta kept denying his friend's feelings. I like this because it really shows how inswcure we can be because happy endings don't always happen. We always think the person we like won't like us back and our hope just crumbles. Better to give up first cause what you already know won't hurt you, right? No. Everyone deserves to have hope. I have been trying to think this way but I always just lock my feelings away because I don't wanna give anyone the chance to hurt me. I think Kouta feels this way too. How he doesn't wanna ruin any relationship because he feels he's bwing selfish and undeserving. I just wanna hug him. I want someone to hug me. Ugh. I need another manga to read to abate my pain.

I really don't understand how anyone could think that the nurse jackhole had any logical reason to pull that twisted shit on someone and on his student nonetheless. Let's just wait and see his tragic ass backstory. Wicked antagonist damn. Well everyone has their opinion. But only describing him as a sadist is an understatement. He's just fucking sick. I read a lot of vile and tragic yaoi but I don't why this got to me. Wait I think it's because the two assholes planned that shit accordingly so that Yoshii would see it. Sick fucks. Sorry I'm a bit emotional I'm on my period and the guy I like just got a girlfriend. Fuck my life sucks. (/TДT)/

Right!? My friend read it too, but she liked it. And I was like "Do you have a freaking heart?" But to each their own I guess.

This is like a mix of Tokyo Ghoul and Claymore with lots of you scenes... I LOVE IT

This manga really centers around the tragedies and sadness in life. It shows how fucked up this world is and how some have no idea of the chaos in others' lives and the confusion. I really like this manga most especially because it does not give a cliche story, but one of inconceivable, yet realistic and true situations many are not able to understand.

At first when they were doing it I was like "OMG so Hotttt!!!" Then when Toshiki was like Junior Entrance Exams, I was like "What the fuckkkk!" Bitch, that boy is in the sixth grade and he is like 30 something. Then, I continued reading and was like, "still this story is HOTTT!!!"
I love Naono Bohra sensei's work. I ain't no pedophile though, I am 14. Still is there a certain age where you are classified as a pedophile? WTF I am just lost i don't know what the hell I am saying.....(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Technical definition? Pedophiles like children under the age of puberty. Hebephiles like young teens. The uke here says he isn't really either because he likes his young nephew because the nephew is who he's in love with, not because he's at an age the uke likes. Generally anyone over the age of puberty having sex with anyone *under* the age of puberty is pedophilia. In common terms it's often used interchangeably with statutory rape, which is when someone has sex with someone under the age of consent. In that case, though, there generally has to be either a fairly large age difference (17-13 or such) or the older person is over the age of consent (21-16, for example). Make sense?

Not a problem! I'm glad I could help.

It's a tricky little word tangle due to common usage and legal definition not being the same thing. It took me a while to sort out exactly what was what too, and it's not something you really want to look up online. You can delete browsing history, yes, but that doesn't stop computers from being flagged from outside.

Legally there doesn't have to be "a fairly large age difference" at all. A one year age diff can send the older partner to jail.

That was why I signified "in common usage" for that part. Plus, that depends on where you live. Where I grew up, the law was changed about the time I was entering junior high school so that teenagers could be sex partners if they were within two years. This was done so people didn't refuse to get STI tests or pregnancy tests to avoid sending their significant other to jail. I believe it started at 14. So a fourteen year old could have sex with a sixteen year old and it was legal, but not a seventeen year old. The seventeen year old could sleep with people ages 15-19 with no legal repercussions. And by the time the older partner hit 20? Well, the younger one already had to be 18, which is fully legal in my jurisdiction. That was part of why I picked the ages I did as examples.

I know that is only true where I grew up, and that different places have different rules, but I do think the sliding scale of consent works best to strike a balance between keeping adolescents safe from adults and keeping them safe from themselves.

From what I gathered, the original question was the poster (a self-admitted 14 year old) asking if she would be considered a pedophile for thinking the story was hot. No. No, she wouldn't. The uke is within her 'strike range', even if both are probably too young for sex to be a good choice. I have yet to hear of any case in any jurisdiction I live in, or any widely popular story, where a minor within two years of another minor is declared a sex offender without other factors, like rape, drugging, violence, or sharing of pictures or videos without consent. If it *has* happened, I would hope that both children were found equally guilty, though. And I still don't believe it should earn them the title of 'pedophile'.

Ah, I just wanted to expand on why it's a grey area, legality speaking, but I'm afraid I might come across as sort of arrogant or condescending on that other reply, now that I'm re-reading it. Sorry about that. I don't always make the impression I would like to online.

Thank you for making the point that different jurisdictions have different rules. I expanded on the ones I'm familiar with as an opening gambit to dialogue, but you have an equally valid point, which I assume is based off of the rules you are most familiar with. So people should look up the rules in their area, not blindly trust either of us to be correct.

I do hold that in common usage, an 18 year old sleeping with a 17 year old would probably be labeled a 'stupid kid' over a 'pedophile', though. Legal definitions aside and all.

Tbh I think it's a translation error. Middle school entrance exam sounds a bit weird to me, even if it's in Japan. Of course there are definitely try hard middle schools that you have to apply for but the standard entrance exams in Japan are aimed at high schools.

Post-pubescent likes pre-pubescent is pedophilia, both in scientific and legal jargon. Post-pubescent likes younger post-pubescent doesn't have a scientific name, but *can*, depending on jurisdiction and possibly age difference, be considered a pedophile legally. I'm not entirely certain what you're asking for a definition for? Was something unclear?

who cares about legal technicality? this 30 year old MAN is fucking a 12 year old. hebephilia is just as shitty and disgusting as pedophilia- don't just to make room for "well ~legally~" don't normalize the sexualization of kids.... k?

A fourteen-year-old asked if it made her a pedophile to find it hot. I said no. What the uncle does is inexcusable and WRONG, but I wanted to do my best to give the person asking the vocabulary and background to figure out their kinks on their own and without kink-shaming. Plus to give context for stupid lines like, "No, I only like you!" which are the sort of bullshit things actual sexual predators (as in real life ones, I'm not excusing the uncle) would say.

Legal definition is important in that context, because the conversation had moved on from the specific manga into more general terms, and the laws of the areas people live in do affect that. There is nowhere I know of where it's legal for a 30 year old and a 12 year old to have sex. But 16? Yeah, there are places where that's the age of consent. It's still skeevy as fuck for a much older person to prey on someone that young, but it's never going to result in charges. Hence the difference between moral, legal, and technical definitions.

Two of my uncles are the same age, and both have wives four years younger than them. However, I only find the relationship where they married when she was 18 skeevy, not the one where they met when she was 18. Technically, there is no problem. Legally, there is no proof there's any problem (and, in fact, there may well have been no problem at that time even if they did anticipate the wedding). Morally? Yeah, I have a problem. That's an important distinction to make, especially in formative years.
