uke would be the bottom and seme would be the top, they aren't the same as dom and sub though. also i recommend you just say top and bottom, its much better, seme and uke are super problematic labels.

yup cuz people be assigning more meanings to top/bottom than just sex positions. E.G. Seme means dominant or manly and uke means submissive or feminine, which is wrong because they are just and will only be SEX POSITIONS nothing more!

I get why ppl think labels based on their role in sex is a problem, and that seme and uke tropes are harmful, but why are seme and uke problematic terms while top and bottom aren’t? Seme and uke are the Japanese terminology of bottom and top on yaoi, just as gong and shou are Chinese ones.

Because of straight people getting to comfortable with gay terms and assigning other meanings to them when in fact they r just positions during sex. HETERONORMATIVITY

Ok but can’t that also be applied to “bottom” and “top”? And I wouldn’t call seme and uke “gay terms”... the theyre yaoi terms and shouldn’t be related to lgtq.

ou i was talking about top/bttm, but i think that the same applies to seme/uke those are just different terms that name the same thing, you know they name sex positions...

Because people have gotten way to comfortable with the terms and have started creating double meanings for it, specifically using that term on actual Asian gay couples, like labeling them based off of stereotypes/ making It seem like seme is dom and uke is sub hence why people dislike that term
