Uncle is just how they call someone far older but he's not really his uncle (he would have called the parents, grandfather and grandmother if so)

I think their families are just close where they consider each other family. I don't think is an actual Uncle X Nephew situation. "Uncle" was probably mistranslated for the honorific terms in the original copy
