Bro is so quirky. I'm so incompetent and weird UwU I can't do anything by myself and is super fucking stupid merp! Bro pisses me off and the pacing is kinda weird but it's early so idc as much as I would. Its kinda of funny too but the MC is annoying and the points of conflict are stupid, but I think it's intentional which makes it pretty funny. Not bad but has the potential to get worse. (I've been traumatized by too many authors thinking they can write just because they can draw a hot guy)
I remember when this was first released and I thought it was interesting and waited till it was finished to reread. Overall it's a well-rounded story that's pretty fluffy and doesn't go too deep into topics before pulling you out for a refresh. The pacing is a bit slow at times but it just helps the readers understand their relationship and world-building which I think is fine. The only real flaws I have with this is the continuous mention of Bongchons strength and the brother.
It pulls you out of the immersion within the story when you get the 599th panel about how strong Bongchon is like we get it. The point is overused and redundant like it's been one panel we haven't forgotten.
The last problem is the brother I believe his dynamic as a character is extremely interesting and deep into topics not often seen in manwhas and books overall. My problem is not his character in general he is well-written but the way the author got rid of him and sealed his storyline was lackluster and lazy. After all that build-up up he just loses his memory? It's lazy and makes me sad that such a good character who made the plot interesting was written off by memory loss. Perhaps falling off the cliff is where is story should've ended “I can't give up anything.” when Soongap asked why he has to lose everything when the brother doesn't. This would have been a good way to show that it was his way of giving up his life and everything he worked for which was for Soongap who didn't recuperate his incestuous affection to let Soongap go and give up his own life instead, so maybe Soongap could finally be happy even if it was without him.
That still would've been exactly a good story write-off for him but at least it would be a little for fitting, especially for the previously stated information. The ending tied off things well other than with the brother though so that's a plus!
I think Pilgyeon’s ending was actually very fitting. Nothing was explicitly said but in my opinion, his feelings for Soongap started off as loneliness as a child then mixed with a little guilt and finally with perversion as he grew up.
He wasn’t really treated as warmly by his mom so he hung on to Soongap and his mother as his family. They were his all world and he felt a sense of duty to protect his brother. But deep down I think like Soongap he was aware of the preferential treatment but he didn’t want it to jeopardise his own little family so he wanted to use that privilege to keep them safe. And then well, after being exposed to his brother and lover you know … he started listing after his brother but at the end of the day, it was always about wanting to keep his little niche family but this time with Soongap occupying a different role. He thought that after growing up he could finally use that privilege towards that goal and fulfill his duty but finding out that Soongap’s purpose changed was very hard to understand since he basically already grew up with the duty passed on from Soongap’s mom to protect him, symbolised by how he held onto that doll for so long and how it was his only comfort. There was also some entitlement at play because let’s not forget he still grew up a noble and perhaps thought that he would always be a little above Soongap despite wanting to rescue him from slavery.
But now, he’s free from all that and he can do as he please, which is what I think his brother also wished for him.

I would've never thought of having a blatant homophobe as the ML in a BL but I the author did. This in the beginning was quite funny, other than the ML's weird remarks that I would believe would result in character development but no. In the beginning, the ML uses coercion to convince the MC to sleep with him and they have a relationship that results in having a FWB relationship. The MC has barely any backbone and allows the ML to walk all over him and disregard his refusal of sex. Many times this happens especially during the somophilia incident. If someone does not consent beforehand or sometimes after depending on the relationship that is sexual assault at the least and rape at its worst. To be honest this has some potential and I believed it would get better but the author doesn't intend on giving a little development to the MLs character other than “My heart hurts why can't my dick get hard” which is not development. Using the “My dick doesn't get hard without you which means we need to be together excused” is extremely lazy and lacks any kind of forethought, if anything it shows the creator's skills in writing which aren't very good.
Whoa whoa, don’t hate on the author. I think it’s great. You also haven’t even gotten halfway through the story, so there are many things that need to be tied up. Since I’ve read the raw chapters, I know what’s in store a few chapters ahead. It’s really good. The redemption arc begins in a few episodes and the ml truly does some soul searching. He’s not perfect, he still makes terrible decisions that Garam will probably hate him for later, but, looking at popularity alone, this author has done a great job. It’s not exactly unique, the the characters are funny and relatable.
I've been reading this since the official chapters came out but the more the story progresses its almost as if the author enjoys writing rape centered chapters. In the beginning, when Seth was raped by Osiris, he was executed pretty well. Seth was greatly impacted by it and it wasn't brushed off that the rape had a “reason” to be here (not saying that tape is the only way the story could've progressed or that rape is a reason for anything, rape is an unexcused action that should never be justified) the story moves along due the rape and it wasn't just there because someone wanted to draw it. Now that the story has continued and it dragging. The plot is slow and there shouldn't have been 30+ filler chapters, throught those we see Seth raped in fantasies that weren't even towards the plot or canon the author just wants to draw…rape. Even more at this point, it has become unsurprising to see Seth raped by EVERY SINGLE MAN he meets. The creator enjoys writing Seth and his towards men “allurement” that even women are jealous to the point it is disgusting. This is no longer about a retelling about Egyptian gods with an actual plot and smut sprinkled throughout, the plot is long gone and the story is just being written for fun and rape makes a more frequent occurrence than the supposed ML.

No fr. I almost dropped it because of the rape, cause tell me why it seems like the author wants him to be raped by the entire Egypt. I had to stay tough cause I have to see through, but it hurts having to see Seth suffer in such ways. Like can't we do some other trauma like daddy issues or sum??? cause this rape thing ain't it. It's an amazing historical manhwa with the best plot, but it could've been a bomb one if it weren't for the constant rape.
Fr like in the beginning it was really promising but then it just went to shit and the story drags for long. There should be no reason why he gets kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a village and then raoed by the guy with a beard in the same arc…

I agree that I would like Seth to be able to break the cycle and move on, however lets not forgot that it was Seth himself who lead to this state of affairs. Seth is both victim and (former) aggressor of violence, in his case it was particularly violence towards women. I don't believe it would be enjoyable reading for him to just get a happy ever after without atoning for the atrocities he's inflicted upon innocent women for hundreds of years.
TL;DR I love Seth, hate seeing him abused, but he's a flawed character working through atoning for his past
I agree but at the same time, nobody wants to see someone constantly raped over and over again. The author could have chosen a plethora of different options for Seth's atonement. Even more the creator portrays Seth in a light that he knows his mistakes and wants to atone for them yet he is portrayed for the reader as though he is pitiful and needs help from the men around him. I don't think it's Seth's character that is flawed but rather the writing and execution.

This isn't very good. No one is talking about how it's good but rather that art is good and I agree, however, the plot and story suck. It's another rape-based plot turned to romance, in the beginning, it seemed good until the rape scenes for the Prince were romanticized and sexualized as if it's hot when the dude is screaming for help. Even more, the seme literally sucks, bro rapes the Prince repeatedly to the point the story just continues like it never happened. I feel bad for the uke and plots like these are boring and simply disgusting.

When I tell you in the beginning it was so good like waiting for updates every day and waiting for the next in my hands and knees kind of thing. The potential was exponential. The story was plot-driven with little tidbits of foreshadowing of smut, the sexual tension between the seme and uke was amazing and I couldn't wait for the story to build up. Again the potential was there and then it was gone. The storyline and mood of the story suddenly changed to the point I didn't exactly understand the actions and intentions of the characters. At some points, it would be retconned and then built upon as some kind of “twist”. The build-up to these “twists” was lackluster and lazy at most. Other decisions are made by supposedly smart characters like the Uka for example. He seemed smart, strategic and knew what he wanted. Abruptly that changed and he turned into every other uke in BL’s, it was disappointing.
Overall the current story has turned lackluster and lazy. The random points of rape and non-con aren't even surprising anymore. The smut has become as boring as the rest of the story. The sexual tension between the MCs was thrown away entirely leaving me to feel whiplashed. It's so disappointing to see a plot like this go to waste.
More to add. I read the spoilers provided by a commenter and omg is worse than I thought. The shitty ML sucks literal ass, the Mc is an idiot. The rape-based plotline to fluffy romance takes the cake for one of the worst troupes ever.
I get its a short story so Im not mad abt how unnecessary the stalker thing was but it wasn't important the fact that the stalker really said “Mb didn't know you got down like that” the next day is CRAZYY
