a typical "great manga destroyed by shitty translation".
Agree
You know, you can tell the translator to drop it if you hate it so much

That's not the point. If she/he is Japanese, then more than anyone else, he/she knows if the translation is poor. They're just letting us know that the translation is being butchered and that we're not getting the full impact of the story because of this. I'm a little disappointed, I've been hoping a real scanlation team would pick up this series and do it a little justice.
I appreciate, that someone loves this manga and tried their best to share it with us,please don't undermine their hard work
And this for everybody criticizing.
I understand your frustration that it is not properly translated ,if you can do better please retranslate it we would love to see your work (︶︿︶)=凸
Well, for me personally, I'm not faulting her intentions. She likes the manga and she wanted to be able to share it with us, and I understand her reasoning. It was well-intentioned, but I stand by my point that she wasn't really translating. Do you really think plugging something into google translate and using guesswork is really translating? I would have been okay if she had been using a beginner or intermediate level of Japanese to translate because at least we know she's using her own skill and understanding of the language. There is no way to know for sure how accurate a google translation is if you don't speak any of the original language either. I'm not sure what her level of Japanese is, but if she does have some knowledge, I take back my assertion. I do, however, appreciate her enthusiasm and what she wanted to do for the rest of us.
yeah well by all means give me a better translation. oh wait thats right, the only one who gave us a translated version of this manga was this translator. who cares what she used to translate it, i dont see anyone else giving us anything that is in english. everyone here criticizing this translator when they are the only who gave us ANYTHING. like wtf
i know i should be glad enough that someone actually puts all their efforts in translating, but recently I just can`t get over the awful lot of lines that say "i must say", "I tell you",
and "i assure you" after a dialogue! I love the manga though... just that i get too bothered with those lines...
maybe they try to translate everything word per word instead of making it sound like conversational english
example, in tagalog, "mabait ka na tao" is translated to "you are a good person" but if it was translated word per word it would be "good you are person"
the japanese are also very formal and use a lot of honorifics which might be lost in translation. since you live in japan, i'm sure you know that best :)
Actually, I feel that it`s the translator`s style (?), especially since I`m Japanese. I`ve had the chance to read the Japanese version of the manga, but I doubt any of those lines would translate to phrases like "i tell you". Much less so much of them. Besides, if Japanese was that unique in dialogue, more manga would be similar in translation, but as far as I know, this is the only manga with this unique translating style.
BTW, I used to live in Philippines until last year (for 19 years). It was a little nostalgic seeing a tagalog phrase(^◇^)
Am I the only one here that`s absolutely disgusted by that heroine`s attitude? Sure, she was a victim at first, but her revenge just feels way too much. By chapter 20, it made me feel so frustrated and sick I gave up on this. Why is it even receiving such a high rating!? Asides from the beautifully drawn art, I hated it.
there`s more chapters for this manga, so i doubt it`s a oneshot. at least there`s a second chapter, plus an extra short story of what happened while the uke was drunk sleeping.
