My theory is that Eve was the saintess. Or as shown we know that people just assume that Eve is a girl and Eve doesn't bother correcting unless Gozu pushes the fact in other's faces to make it clear. The original Eve would probably grow his hair out no doubt and wearing girly stuff isn't new for him. We also see that when Gozu and our Eve go out to clear out the saintess' part members, the members are drawn to almost following Eve out and they all first view him as a girl hence the saintess title. This is the divergent point in my theory that the Eve that Gozu sees in the game as the Demon King could actually be Eve's older self time travelling or something. This could totally happen in a manga like this. And Gozu is the variable that disturbs the time travel route by saving Eve the not-yet saintess. Essentially existential suicide Eve route is what I think happened. A reach but yknow.But there could some other stuff I see in BL which is soul shards being split into 2 or the game was made for Gozu and Eve was waiting to be saved or just the brother-sister parallel (Unlikely since we aren't shown the origins of the saintess yet as Gozu knows them, it seems all he knows the appearance and personality and not the backstory.). This could even turn out to be older Eve dying, time traveling back, losing his memories and we get our new Eve (This could be joined back the saintess Eve theory also but could be standalone). This could be supported by the chest pain Eve feels and the flash of a memory emerging in his brain. Anyways anything's possible, this manga could just go crazy and make Gozu the final Demon King since he is just that bif of a variable.
