YO that backstory did not earn my sympathy just to be clear but shows how talented this author is about the reality of relationships. I’m certain that most of us here has had someone in their life who was close to them but was a toxic person (a friend, family member, lover). Its hard letting go of them, but we discover that its not up to us to fix them. Jihyun sees Chiwoo as his security blanket from the bleakness of his world, but instead of letting that sunshine envelop him, he still choose to do bad things. People (usually) have a choice in their actions/decisions, and one person is not responsible for you. Its amazing how the author shows that Jihyun remains like that while finding solace in Chiwoo. He chooses to still do what he wants, and not change for Chiwoo like the tropes we know of. His awful tendencies are his own doing, and he chooses to drag Chiwoo into his world than stepping into it with Chiwoo. The change should start with him if he hates it so much or doesn’t bring him joy, but we don’t exactly see him doing that. More like he wants to continue doing these awful things without being hold responsible and having Chiwoo too. I’m the biggest Jihyun hater out there, but this gave me an appreciation for how three dimensional the author made him to be :)
Jenette is literal white bread she has no cons, and her pros are Athy's pros as well (being kind, lovely, smart). Its so painful reading through the updates and seeing one-dimensional Jenette. If it wasn't for her past as being some kind of b**** m**** baby, she could die off the story and I wouldn't notice
Sidenote: DAMN ARE YALL SEEING IJEKIEL HMMMMMM
Hey guys not trying to cause conflict and I'll delete this if it does but did this came out before Light and Shadow or the other way around? The story is so starkingly familiar
Light and shadow follows a story of a former prince/pretend to be man who meets a Duke*I think* and rises from being a fake fiance to his soulmate.
While here Lucia is a princess*which Connects royalty to both* she makes a contract to the Duke*also same* but here his and her story are far more complex w/challenges.
light and shadow do share similarities in structure but the plot is way to separated from one another.
( ╹▽╹ ) I can see how you see the familiarity (人*´∀`)。*゚+
Hey thanks for the detailed response! I was quite miffed at the premise of the story and while reading it, and did not want to read carbon copies because that seems to happen a lot in webtoons these days (isekais, villainous MC being kind, daddy complexes). Thanks for explaining I will continue reading this then :D
This is easily one of the best isekai shoujos. I'm pleased that the manga ended quickly compared to other isekai shoujos that just continue on and on. The characters are great and have some depth (Aileen's dad is one of my faves), plus the chemistry between the demon king and Aileen is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Not to mention that its funny and the characters complemented each other up until the end. Definitely a must read!
I know majority of the ppl in the comments section are Lucas stans but come onnnn guys the first time Ijekiel and Athy met she literally fell from the sky and he thought she was angel. She just kept popping up, and in his young boy heart it was some sort of "will she appear today? will the beautiful angel be here?" BUT ALAS she's the princess of the kingdom, and they meet each other again in her debutant ball. Ijekiel has studied, went far and wide, and returned better than ever. IDK ABT YALL but when I look/read at their scenes drawn together I JUST FEEL IT. LIKE I FEEL THE WIND, SMELL THE ROSES. They are so cute together ;^(
PREAAACH!!! ヽ(`Д´)ノ
