I think it's fair that two people, especially those in queer relationships, want to keep their status to themselves. The MC isn't ready to come out, and ML clearly doesn't want to force him out either. Add the fact that they're famous and MC is worried how it'll affect ML's career, and you can understand why he's like that. Also yeah both his friends have loose mouths, I wouldn't tell them either.
Sadly, this author is actually good and they keep their characters consistent
