For everyone who doesn't like it, what a shame..
Illian lived a lonely life and what kept her going is her good heart and love for people she cares about. Then she met this boy who I think she greatly sympathize with which is Jules and that boy looked up to Illian until that adoration becomes romance and making him obsessed with her. This is fantasy fiction so of course the male lead is non-human-human. Dragons are known for being obsessive hence that also explains why Jules can't move on.
Female lead's so reasonable. She turned down Jules because Jules is a kid she practically RAISED. Also she's not accepting the fact that she's fallen for Jules cuz he is abnormally infatuated with Illian Heinrich. Jules would rather kms and the others that caused Illian's death than live for himself or without her.
About Eric, he is also well written I hope Eric realizes his worth and have more boundaries like the Blonde friend.
We need a good character development for Jules cause he feels like an asylum patient even if he is half dragon, give him some self worth! my guy is a sad case.
I'm sorry if I have offended anyone with this comment but hey this is my opinion, you can share yours too so please let's respect each other. It's not like I'm spreading hat3 comment^^
Tbh, I'm surprised there's someone defending this, but you do you, babe.
My main qualm with this series is that it's overall so poorly written (whether in comic form or novel form) and there really isn't any actual meaningful purpose for anything that occurs. It's tired, done and uninspired, and the lead up to any event is absolutely inane/obtuse. There's a gaping plot hole so wide it never gets filled, and Jules never really moves on from Illiyan. The romance between him and Haven is just frankly awkward and without chemistry. Illiyan's personality despite her age is also questionably written. I have way more complaints about it than I could possibly summon the energy to continue writing about. There are simply other very similar stories out there that are just executed far better than this one.
If people want a regressor little lady and a dragon prince, there's already Yarinaoshi Reijou. Then there's Regas, a BL version of this with the near exact same plot, but with way better chemistry. For an age gap power couple, there's Honzuki. So many options.
It might not be the very worst thing I've read; but it's consistently up there on my mind as one of the worst. For me, giving up on this was not a shame.
Very Lana Coded baby
Jealous, jealous, jealous boy
If I can't have you baby, no one else in this world can~
Same baby I'm also quite the possessive type. Male, Fem, all the colors of rainbow even the animals ..I get jealous of them. If my person compliments a flower I would wish to be the flower or maybe destroy it so he won't see any beauty but me...or dig out his eyes JK!!
Yk the Untamed is also a bl to bromance right and was it bad? No, Is it worth to binge? Of course. So this one is the same. I honestly didn't like the the drama now that I know it's originally a wonderful BL but then it was actually a hidden Gem.
The actors showed the complexity of their characters and kudos to the script writers/director of that cause they really put life to the characters and not just categorized them as black & white like the Bully who got his redemption arc which was intense at the finale. The drama is filled with talented good looking actors, no plot holes, and it's actually relatable. The bromance is also genius like instead of romantic interest they made it into real friendship which is very pleasing. If they did not cut the bl part I think it will be more lovable to watch but regardless The novel, manhwa and Kdrama are all worth to binge
The untamed is based on very popular novel tho. It also have anime. The author is same as the one who wrote Heaven Blessing Official. And the story is genius I say. Romance between the two is very much as bromance but when we get the flashback, wangji has been in love since they were students. Tbh, both anime & drama adaptation is toned down the scariness. The fighting, the zombie, the ghost, the demon are all very very creepy in the novel. And wei wuxian is super ruthless when he attack his enemy.
The thing is China was severe censorship laws, like production can go to jail or heavy fines if they make gay shows... That's why they make bromances. It's DADT (dont asl, dont tell).
Korea doesn't have those laws, that why we can get Korean bls. But, this is a mainstream production, Korean is still a conservative cpuntry, so if u want to make a TV drama, u need to censor it.
there's also another reason why they don't pursue BL genre that much. It doesn't fit the actors image even after Untamed the actors still got some backlash from viewers because they are sus. There's R18 Chinese drama too but not that many, mostly filmed long time ago and the latest are either bromance or subtle romance
I'm actually not pointing out the genre but the quality of their production, cast, acting and plot haha also it's totally chill to never watch that show we all have our own preferences and opinion.
Someone asked me why I'm forcing it but I'm not maybe it came off that way because I'm defending the show. I'm a fan of the two actors and they didn't fail to give me a good show so I wanna voice out that the straight Washing is indeed awful but not the show. To Minnie, I'm not forcing anyone to watch it we all are free to drop or pick so chile bae
( ̄∇ ̄")
Show is done shooting. It has also finished airing.
The production house that made it has made proper bls before. Won Taemin, who plays the Deuk Pal's right hand, is a well-known K-bl lead with 3 bls, and one which is shooting right now.
The drama was changed from bl to bromance with a bit of straight-washing BECAUSE of fans of the actors. International fans dgaf, but Knetz threw a tantrum (as they do, bécause the leads are idols). This was when the casting and the source was just announced. Then the production house came out with it's a bromance, not a bl and the inter-fans got pissed. But the drama is made for Knetz and they are happy with, so
Well I see some comments doesn't like the rae part but it's just a scheme, it didn't really happen and no such thing will happen but just like any other period dramas this one got biatch fights concubine schemes, politic struggle, and annoying stubborn characters. Overall it is a good story to read with pretty art.
The Female lead forced to marry the Crown prince whom she treats as her brother, because of a false story that she lost her innocence to him. The moment she wed to the Crown Prince a bunch of schemes uncovered and she suffered a lot. She ended up becoming the Empress but at what cost? Blood has stained her innocent hands in order to survive her cruel destiny. The male lead comes back and still remains the naive, idealistic and upright man he is, she slowly recovers from her tyranny with his tender loving care and I guess they had a child ... That's all I know so far but I hope it was a tragic end instead of a happy one
Wooyeon is so relatable lmao my patience also runs out when I'm drunk so don't piss me off or you'll receive a quick reality check with curses of different languages on the side but fr tho this drunk traits is dangerous cause bickering could lead to physical fights and worse!
