So from this point on wu yu is hesitant to be in a relationship with bu chongua because he is hiding a huge secret from everyone (he's not actually who he says he is). however, after a lot of fighting and heartbreak they end up being official and get matching rings. though, deep down wu yu is expecting them to breakup eventually because of the lying and he thinks he doesn't deserve bu who he sees as perfect.
buttt... in the meanwhile they are betrayed by an informant and kidnapped. wu yu is on the brink of death and bu chongua has to make a decision. the kidnapper slides a note under the door that says someone in the room has to die. With them is a kid and his mother - (but plotwist the kid and mom are the family of the drug dealer that killed bu chongua's family).
they just barely escape when the police finds them but one/two? of the hostages are dead and bu chongua is being investigated for murder. the directors realize that bu has been more reckless, violent, and carefree about work so they launch an investigation. Lin zheng finds out that bu chongua has been selling drugs on the dark web and working with Shark. Bu breaks out of jail and wu yu (who just woke up from a coma) runs after him. Only for Bu to hold a gun to his head and threaten to shoot him. he says "the old bu chongua you knew died" and that if he doesnt avenge his parents no one will. He speeds away on a motorcyle with shark's men.
So much more happens after that and Wu Yu's secret is revealed to the whole force.
The translated version of the novel has a lot of errors but I still totally recommend it!

wayyy more chaotic & honestly they love each other so much its js ridiculous. i'll never stop gushing about this novel so here is a spoiler quote from one of my fav chapters, i won't say who its from tehehe.

He did declare his love, in the raws he says “johahaeyo, hyung” which actually means I like you, and he is thinking about liking him not falling in love with him, I don’t know why did they translate it this way.
