Ah, she doesn't diss or insult Louis! So it's ok. She was actually really helpful, without realizing it. She was the one who helped Louis to realize that who the father of his baby is. Louis goes to the butler to confirm that he stepped into Maetel's carriage that night and went away with Maetel (ergo, that Maetel is the one he slept with that night). Now, he is going to Maetel to ask why Maetel didn't tell him that he is the father of the baby.

So she got them to be honest with each other, even if it wasn't her intention. Without her, the story wouldn't have moved along and Louis' heart wouldn't be put at ease.
