I don’t know that much but to summarize it maxi loses her baby and is in shock and during this time her dad brings her back to his house and starts abusing her and riffian walks in and sees what her dad is doing and realizes all the abuse Maxi went through. So he wants to go to war with the duke but obviously the duke has more money and more powerful friends than riffian so because the king and princess don’t want to lose riffian they suggest that maxi go study magic because she has potential to be great mage. But riffian doesn’t want her to go obviously bc they’ve already been apart for a long time but she ends up leaving bc she wants to be able to protect him.
