After having read a few discussions on many of your guys thoughts on corsets. I actually think it's quite crazy how much you guys are willing to believe something without even questioning your own beliefs for just a millisecond to maybe open your world view. Like I'm not sure of you know this but corsets were usually not uncomfortable unless they were tightly laced. The whole idea that they were uncomfortable was made by men who thought women were vain and such. Corsets in themselves were worn for hundreds of years by women and also were custom made so I doubt they would be very uncomfortable unless they were not properly fitted.
Corsets were originally made for men. Not women. And now we know corsets are for figure and shape not to look tiny. Back then women would wear them so tight that they would end up fainting regular. That is why the lounge chair was invented. That chair was made for ladies to be set upon when they fainted.
Women were taught to put it on so tight that there were mid-evil surgeries for the women to remove their lower rib. So that they could tighten it more.
I do historical reenactments and this is a topic I know well. Corsets where made for men first. And then women wanted it. The design of the corset didn't change and women used corsets made for men.
