I could understand the frustration from both sides, mc was forced to give up on his dream you worked so hard for, and his family member lying an important piece of information regarding himself these entire year, of course he would panic.
But i could understand the desperation coming from the prince, he found the person he was meant to be, to upheld the regulations from the imperial family, that one line when he said "I'm only following the rules" was kinda sad for me, he was forced to be perfect just because of his lineage, he was forced to act mature since early ages. The only times he can act clumsy or panicked are when he's with the mc. You could say mc is his light, that's why he acted so irrationally.
