The original owner of Raeliana's body wasn't tired of LIVING she was tired of not living "as the main character" see. She liked novels so much she assumed the heroine get the Instantly-Easy/Free Pass route just handed to her like how it is in the stories. Instead of trying to better herself she decided to make herself into the main character of THIS story. She might've discovered that she was initially only supposed to be a minor character in a novel (since the "replacement" Raeliana was transmigrated from Korea where all this junk was a novel called "The Case of a Murdered Friend" that only starts after the original Realiana gets murdered--hence the dumbass title). Instead of trying to CHANGE HER FATE this psycho decided it's better to just START OUT as the Main Character, gets into the world of black magic or finds someone ELSE capable of such magic, has the "original" MC (the blondie) killed/ or put in a coma or some other sinister shit to force her soul out, and just replaces the girl herself. [She's a fucking coward that didn't even try to change her own life but immediately thought "let's just steal someone else's." instead] Through the same kind of black-magicky BS she brought someone in to replace her (she probably didn't care who it was or the magic user found someone on their own means...either way they probably didn't intentionally pick the person (she wasn't stalked for months/years because she's "special" or anything) it was most likely just randomized to whoever seemed to be the most CONVENIENT target. So now the "original" Raeliana is the Blondie (who was supposed to be the MC) & the "replacement" Raeliana is the current MC who resisted death, made a deal with the duke herself etc.

The original MC was pushed off of a building remember? If she isn't dead it wouldn't be possible to transmigrate her soul. The the original Blondie is probably also dead. I think it's POSSIBLE they drugged her with something or made her fall into a coma somehow, at the very lightest she could've just been hypnotized into a state of being a prisoner within her own body so that the "original" Raeliana could take over (something like in the movie "Get Out"). Either way it's probably impossible to bring the original Blondie back--and even if there was--the duke would probably just wants her dead to make everything wrap up conveniently. He can't do it yet because his fiance is someone who'd object to it & there's not an easy, BELIEVABLE excuse for "oh I guess she just went & disappeared".

If Beatrice was the Blondie--I forgot her name since it's not said often enough + I kinda wanna see her current-self (the one who's fine with murder & drugging strangers) dead--then I really think she'd be dead. It's also likely they found a way to "overwrite" the girl's soul with the original Raeliana's.

i've just read so many different manga that after awhile they get predictable. Like how my favorite manga (& 1st i ever read) is "Skip Beat" by Yoshiki Nakamura. I could've told you back in Vol. 3 that the MC would fall for Ren but even though it's now into vol. 43 & they still haven't officially gotten together as a couple I'm still reading & waiting for that exact moment when they actually start going out (+ i wanna know if the author's going to depict their wedding & anything about their future children)... It seems like it's gonna be another long wait until then...but it is inevitable still.

Any knight who values his job isn't going to half-ass it for a flaky sense of moral decency. & they weren't confirmed as lovers from what I saw it just looked like he was trying to hide her from something.
It's seemingly the lover of the marquess, hence potentially a noble for any person not knowing who the girl is. Looking at a naked noble lady could bring more problems, especially if there truly is nothing to be found in the end.
That's the only reason I can up with right now for them not doing their job. But sounds kinda weak, but it also was just a suspicion and no clear proof for their suspicion offered. So depending on who gave the intel and why they went there it may not be too unreasonable. If it was a more unreliable source that gave the info, they may felt more reluctant to risk trouble with a potential noble or even being the cause of some affair (in romance sense) seeing the light of day.
