I am SO happy he's being straight forward (ML). With how cold-ish he was acting at times and the "you'd never misinterpret(?)", I was scared it was gonna be another internalised homophobia and drunk one night stand to shaky friends with benefits and cringe taking advantage of MC who is one sidedly in love, leading to chapters upon chapter and chapters of "Holy hell can they just get on with it already", misunderstanding here, misunderstanding there, BAM, get together on the final chapter, no side episodes. But phew... Lookin safe, guys.
Okay well now he's just a piece of shit who resorts to violence. Is there a coming back from this? It is currently a 'not really' from me, man. Could've been cute, could've been wholesome. He could've just cursed him out or something! The author didn't have to go this far! If you're really set on the physical part then you dont have to go THAT extreme! At least he didn't murder or torture him I guess! I'm so peeved now! I'm so mad!
I think it's makes sense to show that at the end of the day, even though their family presented themselves more " kind " , they were still like other noble families. And Luan were no exception. He still thinks like a nobleman and acts like one ... he still thought less of the commoners, only exception was Claude.
If he didn't discover it was Claude, he wouldn't even think anymore of the beating. His father even let him off easily instead of being fair and punishing according to law or something ... they are still nobleman .... the law is different for the rich.
