From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as though it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call the temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved, for the Machine is immortal… Even in death I serve the Omnissiah.
Hour Hero is bitter and violent cus he is getting blue balls, the all-knowing prince never speaks is mind and the war/conflict half of the story is so generic and pathetically borig it’s sad with the supporting cast being almost blanks, and cherry on top we have the kind healer Princess followed by loyal-to-death hot twinks retinue.
The most damning thing of all is this beaten to death idea used in all japanese fantasy media, where almost all nobles are kind people ready to die for the peasants, it’s boring, stupid, avoids the political discourse of a nation at war for the narration, and I wish it would disappear completely as a clichè.
Why the plot must be the same old omegaverse slop? The usual copy and pasted characters and plot points, slop slop slop, you can predict the entire story from the first 8 pages, bleah.
