So idk buttt there could be a connection to how Sisyphus in hell never managed to place the rock on top of the mountain and how in this story, with it being on top, their base is a heaven for them.
Additionally sisyphus cheats death multiple times, our ml had very distinct frankenstein features hence my conclusion is that he too must have cheated death multiple times.
