Reread the whole thing, I really just couldn't feel a lick of chemistry between Jiwoo and her, I cannot get it out of my head that they felt more like older and younger sibling or aunt and nephew— hopefully the romance didn't became anywhere close to being a centerpiece cus I really am not feeling rhe chemistry betweem them
Everything else I could understand and accept but begging for custody of your child when it is clear that said child has already formed positive familial bonds with her caretakers / guardians is not good.
Looking pass just how the dad swoop in when things became convenient for him, taking a developing child away from a good environment that they've attaches themself to is just a bad thing to do. It will have dire consequences on the kid's mental well being, regardless of whether she could still have contact with them.
The better thing to do here is to gradually come into her life by visiting often, then perhaps she could stay overnights at his in a monthy - biweekly status. Slowly introducing his presence into her life so that she could get use to calling him her dad, get used to him. Staying with him should be her decision, and regardless of whether the outcome is them becoming a traditional father-daughter household w/ uncles and grandparents close by or vice versa, this big of a chance shouldn't have been shoved onto them lightly. It should've been a gradual change.
This turned into a big rant where I talked in circles but I just couldn't believe, despite seeing that he's trying and meant well, that he would've been as good of a parental figure as he wants to be. He just clearly hadn't think things through...
I couldn't have wrote things more clearly. Because as much as I understand where he is coming from, the father wasn't there in person for most of her upbringing and coming back suddenly like this, taking her away from the connection that she made during the time he was away, is really not a good idea. I have experienced it first handed with my foster brother, and it hasn't ended well at all. The father should think more about what Jiu wants than what he wants, and what he thinks his family should be like. Family takes time, and wether it was for a good reason or not, the truth is that he wasn't there.
immediately went Super Junior?! Then I reread it LMAO
