If MC was feeling some sort of doubt he had every right to confirm with ML, doubt can always find a way to seep through so asking just to confirm and double check some things is perfectly fine. Reassuring someone of something is always better than letting the doubt burn and fester up.
MC also has every right to say he realized he was uncomfortable with the fact that ML is sleeping with others. But in response ML also has every right to break up with MC if ML still wants to do his job.
MC knew what he was getting into with ML but that doesn’t make him at fault for feeling doubt or uncomfortable with some things. If ML want to break up with him because of that, let him.
They both have 2 different feelings on things that heavily impact a relationship. Both are at fault here for sure though, MC broke boundaries they agreed on earlier, ML isn’t communicating as much and being aggressive, both aren’t really trying to understand each other or at least MC can’t because he doesn’t know why ML is doing sex work.
