When you're sexually stimulated, arousal is unavoidable. It's a physical condition, much like you can't control when your body goes into goosebumps. The uke never consented, so it's rape. Irrespective of whether or not he felt pleasure. A lot of victims downplay their assault because they think it wasn't bad cuz they enjoyed it. No means no and you can see that the uke did not want to do it with him. That should be enough for us readers to know that this was in fact rape.
Lmfao, the fuckery is going on?
If the color of your skin depends on your spirit, why don't we have red/ orange ppl for fire, blue ppl for water/ wind, green/ brown for earth etc.
It's truly unnecessary to change her color just cuz she now has light magic....
It's understandable if the author got tired of coloring in her skin and needed a reason not to do so but it still leaves such a terrible feeling in my mouth. It comes across esp colorist.
Looks like the dad had a pretty fucked up childhood as well, if his only means of escape was riding an airship. He's another victim, much like our MC. However, he needs to earn his forgiveness. I pity him, but what he did is unforgiveable. The damage is done. If he wants his daughter, he will earnestly have to change his ways, he has no right to demand/ expect anything from our MC (︶︿︶)=凸
I was scared when our MC, despite being violated, sympathized with his brother. I thought he'd blame himself, like I and most victims do in abusive relationships. However, once the author so eloquently showed the difference btw true love and selfishness, I was put to ease. I got to commend this author, within a couple frames, she resolutely declared that rape, no matter the circumstance, is criminal. I think this is the 1st time I've seen an author take such a strong stance against it. It's refreshing.
When Dojin says Yellow Dragon is the one waiting for him and not vice versa....it just hit me. Seeing that both our MCs are ppl of different worlds, their paths were never meant to cross and even if they did cross, separation was inevitable due to the above reason. To meet again, no matter how powerful yellow dragon was, was impossible. Hence, he could only turn back time. So if while living they couldn't be together, then only in death could they be together. Once I realized this, I sobbed like a baby. I knew what was going to happen and I wasn't sure if I was ready for the following pages. I wanted the emperor to spend time with Dojin's niece and sister. For Dojin to meet with the other animal spirits and spend his days with yellow dragon at the restaurant...
But once I saw how happy they were when they held hands, I thought, for them, just being able to be together was enough. They knew they had to make sacrifices, and they did. I'm sobbing again.
Hahaha, this is quite the late reply. In the 1st timeline, it was dojin's fate to die early in yellow dragon's world. He would then return to his own world and continue to live his own life (marry, have kids, die of old age). There was no hope for their paths to cross again, cuz you can't bring back the dead. So Yellow dragon kept turning back time to the moment they would meet. Toward the end, Dojin again died and returned to his world. So neither him nor yellow dragon could meet. So they choose to wait and meet in the afterlife.
Damn, it really seems like the mom's dream for them both to get married and have kids is affecting them.
-Mamo seriously regrets hurting Kana and wants to be his friend.
-Kana loves Mamo. There is no way for him to just be friends. It's why he rejects Mamo's apology cuz that's not the reason why they aren't closer.
-Mamo needs to realize he loves Kana. But, though he isn't averse to men dating each other, he's scared of being associated with Kana that way....
Is it possible that there's more to the memory of Mamo rejecting Kana that strongly? Did the mom play a role? She seems aware of Kana's feelings...
Or did s/o else let him know that his feelings were wrong?
So I haven't read too far into the novel after this current scene, but Rashta is an unreliable antagonist. Meaning you can't trust anything she says/ feels because she unconsciously paints herself as a victim and absolves herself of any accountability. She'll turn black to white and white to black for her self-interests. For example, s/o could just be staring at her for too long and in her eyes it would turn into s/o plotting/ being jealous of her. She is very prideful and she unconsciously refuses to paint herself in the negative light. Even if she realizes she is doing smthng wrong, she'll immediately justify herself as poor me/ this is my only choice etc...when in actuality, there are several avenues for her to play her plots out. So when you see her calling s/o good or bad, you might want to reconsider that opinion. Cuz, when she calls s/o bad or good, it basically means s/o good to Rashta or s/o bad to Rashta. Not necessarily a good/ bad person.
I respect that this author writes vulnerable semes. They aren't this all powerful, nobody can mess with, always on top males. I know ppl are disappointed with the seme for his reaction, but it's fucking realistic. He's originally bloodthirsty for revenge. He probably felt, once the uke was back in his arms and his brother dealt with, they could get back to before when everything was normal and love was in the air. But what did he see? The love of his life hurt beyond repair. No amount of revenge could erase the damage done and it was all his fault. This time it was his brother, the next time could easily be another enemy, that's simply how his world works. Right now, he's probably going through intense self-loathing for not being able to protect his person.
As for the uke, I know ppl are disappointed that he asked for sex almost immediately, but I find this awfully realistic as well. We know the uke had been previously assaulted as a child but bottled up his emotions/ memory. He grew numb to it. It's why when he was assaulted again, though he tried to get away, he eventually accepted his fate. That resignation is, unfortunately, common with victims who're repeatedly assaulted. The only person he could properly rely on was the seme, he's probably his only comfort in that world. So he clung to it the moment he was rescued. He wanted as much of the warmth and safety of his embrace. Yes, he asked the seme 'Why did it take so long?'...this is more indicative of his trust and dependence on the seme. But now, he probably realized that this person might not always be ther to help him. That he's not as reliable and this short embrace is merely a false way to feel safe.
This is a pivotal scene and in the following chapters I wouldn't doubt if there is a noticeable shift in their dynamics. One where both will meet each other on equal grounds. Their strengths and weaknesses explored etc etc.
Lol..when I saw the seme' s reaction..i whispered f*** You..and then I see this as the top comment
Your absolutely right
I absolutely agree with every word you said. The emotional toll on this one is so real.
I agree with what you’re saying, and I could be wrong but wasn’t it the twin brother who got assaulted as a kid? I honestly can’t remember since it’s been a while.
Never mind, sadly you’re right.. it was both of them. Oh god...
