Their relationship is so sweet. Everything about this is so good! Probably got the most smut in a manhua lmao. I would love to see Johnathan and Lucian forever but that’s not possible. I have to be satisfied with seeing their happy ending. Simon and Willow’s end is bittersweet but I guess it is the perfect end for them. Also pleasantly surprised for a continuation of the merman’s story.
However, I wonder whatever happened to the siblings from the horned eagle? Even if the sister died, Byron should be alive no?
I really like how this plays out from plot to characters, everything is really well done. But, I still have so many questions unanswered. Technically, everything’s resolved since Yeom-ra’s dead but I still want to know more about Beomji’s background and Yoon-jae as well. Like what’s the deal with Beomji’s power? How is it that Yoon-jae was able to see spirits since young? What about that flower Yoon was caring for in the underworld? Was that Beomji or not? So Yoon-jae is not the reincarnation of Yoon? What happens with the sleeping king? How about Yeom-ra’s background and how he ended up in the underworld?
Where are my side stories???
So my guess for some of these questions:
Beom-ji is the flower from the underworld- remember he said he thought hed been there before and he remembered the little boy plus his mom prayed to the underworld for a son and he has they same color eyes and the color of his powers are the same as the blue flower(plus some other reasons there are a lot of clies if u look closely). Also yoon-jae is the little brother's reincarnation so just like the little boy could see spirits, yoon-jae could since they r the same person. That was pretty much confirmed by the brother. He even said in one scene "are they even similar in this sense" talking about his ability to see ghosts. But it was largely insinuated that he is the reincarnation of the little brother. But I don't know anything about yeom-ra I would like to know as well.
Reading this series, the thing that i appreciate the most isn’t any couple dynamics but the friendship between Yohan and Yuri. They’re so different but at the same time so similar. Every time Yohan shows up in Form of Sympathy or when Yuri shows up in For Your Love, i feel so satisfied and wholesome. I don’t ship the two, i just really like their friendship. They might shit on each other but when it comes to important matters, they have each others’ backs. That’s so beautiful. Yuri was the frontline support for Yohan’s romance while Yohan has always been Yuri’s only confidante. The fact that they have such big roles in each others’ stories says a lot about how much they matter in each others’ lives. I would honestly enjoy a story of just Yuri and Yohan when they were young and their antics. They’ve known each other for so long, they’ve become a part of the other. I can feel so much of the care and love they have, platonically, that it makes me wish i could have someone like that in my life.
Personally the story was alright. It’s good but it’s definitely no masterpiece and not at the level of great. The plot was okay, it was too convenient at times. The pacing was good but the relationship development was wonky sometimes. I am especially skeptical of how fast the emperor fell. The characters were great though and the general is a favorite of mine. But the plot with the second guard was kind of weird and confusing so I couldn’t feel enough closure about him. The villain wasn’t anything special. I liked the empress plot twist though. Overall, it’s a good story but I’ve read better.
I’m not particularly pleased that he has to change just to fit in and please other people and the message that conveys but I do appreciate and understand that that is realistic. Appearances and social wits always matter in society and that’s a fact.
I do think Seonwoo is a face con through and through and that’s just who he is, at least he also likes Jeong’s personality now even if he was only after the looks and sex at first. He’s still horny and that’s okay.
I don’t hate or blame either characters since both of them are flawed. I think Jeong is a jerk and Seonwoo is a creep and that balances it out. Nobody is perfect. The point is that I appreciate and love how the story is not trying to even cover it up and makes me think that it’s okay to be flawed.
Creep?! Being horny and kinky doesn't make you that for sure seriously and yall need to stop mischarachizing Jeong, his upbringings had made him distrustful of everyone and he was never in a serious relationship for him to know what love is.
In my opinion, no matter what his backstory is, you can’t change the fact that he was shitty and acted a jerk to the MC in the beginning. Just as you can’t change the past, his actions had no excuses. Sure the MC enjoyed it but that was not known and he still intentionally goes out to hurt him. As for the MC being a creep, I wasn’t talking about his sexual preferences, I was talking about how the MC peeps at the ML a lot. Propositioning someone to satisfy his sexual needs, while unintentionally, in a workplace setting no less is pretty creepy in my opinion, not to mention the ML took it as blackmail in his point of view. Also, the constant and nonstop sexual fantasies in any and all place is disconcerting, as imagine the object of the unrequited fantasies is you. I’m not hating on him though, as I said, they are flawed but I appreciate them nonetheless.
