Tbh I do prefer the promo art. The current art is good, and could work for so many series out there but it’s just subpar for this one, especially after seeing the promo. It failed to portray the characters correctly. Like the MC, she is emotionless so her face is pretty much blank most of the time. I’ve seen too much emotions in her to really recognize that she lost her emotions, which is actually a big plot point. There are some little details that got changed in the adaptation that also subtly changes the nuances of the story. Ie. Her backstory when she was in the lab and her first impression of Lakus. Tbf I haven’t read far for the manhwa but as a novel reader, I feel that it is not doing the story justice. I loved the promo not only because the art is pretty but also the MC’s face is beautiful, doll like, and emotionless which portrays the MC perfectly. The scene panels also gave off the same vibe as the novel. In comparison to the recent adaptation, the MC feels like any female lead out there in stereotypical rofan stories.
Bro even I’m confused and tired of ml’s BS so to think about how mc would feel. What is going on in his head. I like this story but goddam is it touching my nerves, it’s strangely bipolar. It’s sweet then they get distant then sweet again, like what is going on. Made me realize I can never stand a push and pull relationship fr
I’m still kind of confused. Yeah we know Seungju is so in love with his hyung, and hyung knows. But, is hyung in love with Seungju? I’d say yes since all his little sneaky, gentle touches and not to mention that beginning night. But why had he not made it clear? Why is he so ambiguous? He obviously cares a lot for Seungju but at the same time, kind of is distanced from him? I NEED to know what he is thinking inside his head. Currently, it looks like our poor Seungju is being lead on a little.
On a side note, when are we actually seeing hyung’s brother in the flesh?
Also, why does Seungjoo act so cold towards Muheyun (sp?), since he likes him so much? I get that he wants to get over Muheyun, but he acts like his hyung is a pest. Muheyun absolutely cares about Seungjoo, but he does act like he's leading him on (having sex with him then acting like a big brother, acting cuddly and touchy then teasing him like a sibling again). Neither will draw a clear line.
I know everyone is weirded out because of her ‘childlike’ figure but I’m not at all? Because I myself relate so much to Jo. I’m a grown woman at 23 who constantly gets mistaken as a middle schooler(i kid you not, waiters still ask for my age at restaurants, and not bc of alcohol but bc i can qualify for kid prices). People like me do exist, not only are we short but our faces look young as well. The novel has also pointed out that Jo was certainly very petite, especially in contrast to her model figure brother and sister, and it’s also one of her insecurities. In conclusion, it’s possible, and to me, realistic.
Though I have to say, it’s just part of her personality that she’s childish in temperament. We take no part in that claim.
It would be tolerable as long as they don’t bring in a love interest because as u said even her temperament is like that of a child plus super petite women make up such a small % of the population that “representation” is absolutely not necessary in an industry that’s already obsessed with lolis and making up excuses as to why it’s ok to be attracted to little girls.
I’m not trying to be dramatic about “representation”. I’m just saying that people like that exist in real life and hence is possible to be written as a character. I’d also like to point out a distinction that petite women do not equate to lolis or literal children. Honestly, her character design doesn’t really bring up an image of a child, at worst a teenager (15/16), nor is it sexualizing it for that matter but maybe that’s just me. I did say she was childish but perhaps I used the wrong word for it, she doesn’t act like a child. She’s playful and a bit immature but that’s also typical of someone her age and could be present in any adults. I wouldn’t say that factors into this situation, at least in my book. Maybe it isn’t really necessary to write her this way, sure, but could it be written this way? Why not? Is it the author’s/ artist’s fault when a few people sexualize a character when the author had no intention towards doing that and the vast majority are normal with it? I don’t think it is. Did she make her go naked or something? Why is it such a big problem? Not a problem. She’s 19 (if I remember correctly). She can have a crush, have romance, heck, even get married. At least for me, I enjoy the story, and see no problem with it. I didn’t even notice it was an issue before I looked at the comments.
YES. Jioh's like 20 rn, and is in college or smth. Ofc she's still somewhat immature and childish. I actually really love her character design with all the comfy outfits (hoodie, sandals, shorts). As a 23yr-old, that's me on a daily basis. Short ppl can exist without being equated to sexualized lolis/children. I'm 5'2 but I also know hella ppl around my age or older who are shorter than me. It's not rare to see in my community
I don’t know what goes on behind Original Ise but he needs to realize that Ise is who he is now through MC’s efforts, not his. Sure, MC made use of Ise’s resources but why didn’t he then? Because of his mentality, his incompetence, arrogance, and ignorance. He chose this, he gave up. I know depression is a sickness, it’s often uncontrollable but he cant ignore the efforts made by MC. The MC was even forced into his body, he didn’t even choose it. He wants to get revenge using the quest and had a second chance at life but he’s also completing Ise’s wish because HE wished for it. MC is fortunate but he can’t blame his misfortune on someone innocent. I hope they would have a compromise between the two but I was a bit pissed he fucked up the MC.
I got frustrated. This is like a teen BL, it’s too immature and too juvenile for me. I don't think either parties are ready for such a serious relationship. Especially, our Eunjae in particular have such a fragile mental and physical state that overcomplicates all their problems. Sure they’re cute, but I can only see it as a first love thing and I know that they would have numerous obstacles in their future for them to be stable and mature. Heck, I dont think they can even last to adults, at least it’ll take a whole lot from their behaviors I’m seeing. I would be very interested to see them become adults though and see what happens
