To the general public the saint manipulates things to look like the person she murdered did some blasphemy against her or the church and since most people (aside from the royalty and most people of the church) don’t know how horrible she is due to the facade she puts up, they believe her. Plus, she manipulated things to make Leticia look like a horrible person, so sometimes she just makes it look like Leticia murdered/tortured the person.
The people of the church are corrupted by her and enjoy being able to feel above other people (like how the wings and maids bully Leticia just because they can and the sainted hates her). Most of the wings have to listen to the Saintess as they’re drawn to her because of the goddess’ blessing (idk what it’s called) and are influenced by the Saintess’ feelings leading them to be corrupt. I think. Maybe most of them are just horrible people, I don’t really understand how the wings work other than that they have to follow the Saintess because of what the goddess did.
