After 10 years of isolated training to become (allegedly) a powerful martial art master, I was looking forward to a big martial art showdown with the villain. But the villain was so weak and went down quite easily and too quickly. Rather than a big battle involving powerful martial arts, it was a lame court case. A very disappointing end to an intriguing revenge arc. And an abrupt end to an interesting villain.
The romance was decent.
I liked the romance between the two leads a lot, but after reading your comment, I think I agree with you. The chemistry of the leads was enough to still make this one of my favorite webtoons but you have to read the story as a romance. As a martial arts and revenge story, it was definitely lacking and anti-climactic. I recommend Blood Bank if you're looking for a BL with a better plot payoff and a little bit of revenge thrown in.
Yes. The romance was rather sweet. I did enjoy that. I just thought the 10 years of separation in order for the main leads to become powerful martial art masters were wasted on a weak villain. As you said, the pay off wasn't there.
If you enjoy the romance in this, try 'To be or not to be'. Another beautiful historical romance. Has a bit more angst, but the love is very sweet.
Thanks for your recommendation. I'll go check out Blood Bank.
The fudanshi said he's not gay and he shipped the two hot guys. How did they ended like that? Felt like he was forced/ coerced/ pressured into this lacklustre poly relationship. There was no chemistry between any of the two guys with the fudanshi while the two guys had sexual tension oozing out of them. Would have been more fun if the fudanshi brought the two guys together and found himself a fujoshi girlfriend.
Something unsatisfying about Shunya shedding his deep long-term love for Ryo so quickly (not even a year after death) to move on to a teenage boy that he's known for only a couple of months. I do like Tsukasa, he's a sweet kid, but his relationship with Shunya felt more familial than romantic. The story should've ended with Tsukasa helping Ryo, somehow (he's supposed to be psychic isn't he? That should've mean more than just seeing a ghost), to find a hot adult male body to move into. Then they can become a happy family of three with Tsukasa living his best life with his two loving fathers. And in future Ryo and Shunya kept picking up stray kids to add to their family.
Uke is 29yo. He's with his 1st love. So I'm assuming they've been together for about a decade. All that time no sex, not even passionate kissing? I thought his bf was perhaps straight, having girls on the side and just using uke for house keeping, but the bf was hooking up with others dudes. So why does the bf not have sex with his own bf (uke) of several years? Especially when the uke is allegedly attractive. Good looking enough to attract a passerby hottie seme. What nonsense
Mujin is actually a shitty guy. He's toyed with ppl and made their lives miserable. No sympathy or empathy. That's how it is if for loan sharks. Not nice at all. Right now, he likes Jaewoo, intrigued by him for flimsy reasons. There's a great chance that those feelings will change. He could get bored with Harwood in the future. It's just so uncertain with such a guy. Hyjeon is definitely the more dependable partner. Devoted and loyal and most definitely grateful to have a loving partner.
Besides, as far as karma goes, guys like Mujin does not deserve to always get what he wants.
Love the protagonist. He's hilarious. He's cynical, but kind and sweet at his core. He's so done with all the alpha X omega bulls#@t. He's so relatable. The ML however, is rather bland. The typical hot, hardworking awesome alpha boss. I prefer the best friend. Their relationship is so deep and complicated. It's beautiful and tragic. Too bad it fizzled out apparently. The main story is pretty wholesome. Not any real drama nor any angst.
The side story on the other hand. OMG! The alpha is a real asshole. I really do hope the omega is moving on as he said and not forgive the heartless cheating scumbag.
...Dammit! Why? Why? Why? Why does the omega forgive the trash alpha so easily? I was hopeful when the omega gave the speech "your love is harmful to me". I thought the omega was dignified enough to leave. BUT NOOOOO!!! Their ending was crap!!! The alpha only broke off his affair only after Mr Lee became a "real omega"? So he would still be treated like dirt if he's never gone into heat?? What shit was that? Unforgiveable POS. Mr Lee should've moved on with the brother. One off for the stupid ending to the side story.
It would've been so much better if MC wasn't coerced into bottom. He had a bottom trauma for God's sake! The ML just disregarded the MC's trauma. The ML should've volunteered to bottom first if he really wanted to be with MC. After that they've could've slowly become a switch couple. As is, I felt bad for the MC who has always topped, now forced to be bottom only. Clearly the love here is very unbalanced.
Love a fluffy omegaverse with respectful alphas. The running and hiding and avoidance the two mains did to each other was so frustrating. 5 years wasted. Foolish foolish boys. I was surprised there were no biting, bonding, claiming or mating in this omegaverse.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the slice of life story. All the characters are so beautifully drawn.
I love my sweet darling boy Dohyun. Can't wait for his story. Despite the title, I hope his story with his omega will be just as fluffy.
