I'm glad to see someone who has an empathy here. The comments really left a bad taste in my mouth but what can I say? Not all people share the same experiences. If we do however, we have different ways to cope up with it. And besides, we use different defense mechanism in response to it. Others may not understand what she go through but in my observation, her environment have a huge influence in the way that she thinks (of course that goes for her actions as well).

For me, she's like my auntie who only wants to best for her relatives but could not put it into words so she use whatever she experiences as a guide even though she and the rest of us would have different responses to it.

sorry to say this but as someone who's queer, even this "its for your own good" perspective is still homophobia as its still a rejection of their true identity and love. its still hurtful and im sure most of the comments have experienced this kind of homophobia, though i still don't agree with their extremely cruel comments

also even if she did trust them it still didn't give her the right to set our ML up with different dating programs without his knowledge? cause at the end of the day, she's still just their neighbour in crying AHNXBSHSHHAGS

as another queer person myself, i'm sorry for those that have been hurt by comments like "it's for your own good" but again in the manhwa she's a young girl and really still learning new things about the world itself.

So this is probably her way of looking out for the mls without any ill intent.

Humans are always afraid of the unknown and it takes time for them to understand and learn to accept.

As a queer person, kids who gives out 'homophobic' comments are not really homophobic but its just a view on the environment that they grew up in.

she's not really that young tho? im assuming she's already in her late teens (17-19) or already early 20's. But regardless, the point of my comment is that despite it being a different kind of homophobia, its still homophobia and her rejection of their relationship is still homophobic and defending her as someone "not homophobic" is gonna downplay the homophobia thats present in the real world. Its important we acknowledge that children CAN be homophobic as its hurtful to young queers thats been subjected to homophobia by "children" of the same age. Again, im not talking about the character here, im moreso talking about real people.

But to set them up with different dating programs?? thats too much even for adults thats more than just being "nosy"

as a queer person living in a homophobic country, heres my take on it. she isnt as young as you portray her to be (shes not even in high school anymore shes college age) but youre right in that shes still young enough not to know much about the world. even so, people are allowed to criticise her actions in response to her trauma. not all trauma responses are healthy and good.

yes, people shouldnt laugh at her for being neglected, but look at it this way-- despite knowing how its like to feel othered, and to feel alone in her struggle, she still did not support them. now, theres a possibility shell change her mind as the story progresses, and theres also a possibility she wont but the main thing is she still did something homophobic. yes, we can have empathy for her plight, but it doesnt mean we excuse her actions. what happened to her can be a reason for what she did but never an excuse. what she did was still homophobic no matter what her reason was and where she lived.

ive had relatives who were and are still homophobic. do i consider then homophobic even though theyre good people despite that fact? yes. people can be labeled something bad despite being good otherwise because people arent perfect. now its up to them if they want to change or not. if they change then they arent homophobic anymore and if they dont theyre still homophobic. my point is, people who are good otherwise can still be homophobic.

Everyone got different opinions, yet you are defending her like homophobic is the only bad characteristic in her, she's literally the one using the victim card and that fucking excuse will not get her anywhere neither do you. You being queer will not change others perspective. Even as a queer person, every queer person experiences differs, get that in mind.
