I just relearnt this and I got reminded of this story immediately. So the mongoose has a remarkable ability to fight venomous snakes and can target vulnerable areas of the snake eg the head during their fight. They also have a somewhat immunity to the venom of snakes when bitten- like they could pass out and process the venom or something like that.
