spoiler?
um so there done again? girl... okay by the pictures, i can tell yahwi isn't good at expressing his feelings and though that doesn't excuse what he did, you can see him blushing under his face after jooin left but i literally don't know anymore if he has feelings for jooin after he said something like, what more do you want for me. and if jooin tells cain, i have a prediction cains probably gonna get mad at yawhi if jooin mentions yawhi, and shits gonna go down (but if cain was really the one that spread the rumors he's either gonna have a reaction and pretend like he doesn't know, but yeah.... IDKEDJOE)
yes, but he never said that he wants a real relationship. yahwi is bad with these things and he never thought about their relationship’s status too much because he is happy with how things are, but jooin isn’t and he never told yahwi that. he wants something more and yahwi can only guess.
that’s what i meant by being straightforward. yahwi is Bad At Feelings, you gotta spell it out for him to understand.
Sure, but let's contextualized things. Yahwi told Jooin that he would do things differently this time, right? That's the reason why Jooin gave him another chance because he hated that Yahwi "apparently" didn't have a place for him in his heart, be treated like a sex-toy, and overall, the ambiguous relationship. If things are supposed to be different, then Jooin will go on board with it. He's made it pretty clear that he doesn't like not knowing what label their relationship should have, which means that he doesn't like that they are still nothing in reality. When Jooin brought up the subject (again) by asking how Yahwi feels after being so hopeful of a possible formal relationship, Yahwi said that he hadn't thought about it and almost make it feel like it's not necessary to discuss it. Which completely confused Jooin and hurt him in the process because things were supposed to be different.
Yahwi doesn't want to commit to anything and he still gets annoyed when Jooin brings up the subject of their relationship etiquette. The rumors just gave him a proper excuse but it's not the first time that Yahwi denies having this conversation. He hasn't done anything differently, like ... Buying him clothes or making him a damn coffee doesn't amount to doing "everything" Jooin expected. Jooin even gets mad that Yahwi thinks he knows better about what he wants than himself. This is the third time Jooin confronted Yahwi about it and he still gave him the same answer. Nothing has changed.
I'm going to break down what you said and explain the way I see things. If I misinterpreted something, please tell me.
If you remember, Yahwi never said how he'll make things different, and Jooin reprimanded himself for not asking. Jooin put no conditions on them "getting back together". It's not like he said: "I want us to date", so Yahwi just did whatever (buying him clothes, going out, and not paying him for sex). Objectively, Yahwi changed a little, but without Jooin communicating what he wanted, he couldn't do that much. We know what Jooin expected to happen, but Yahwi doesn't.
You say that Jooin wasn't okay with their ambiguous relationship which yeah, as readers, we know that, but Yahwi isn't a mind reader. When they had that confrontation in season 1, Jooin said this: "I don't care how you felt in the beginning as long as you don't feel the same way now. /I won't expect for anything more/, even if it's a little bit...do I have a place in your heart?" All he cared about was Yahwi feeling something for him. He never asked for a relationship and I don't remember him doing that in the latest chapters either. As I've mentioned, Yahwi isn't good with these things, so Jooin's best bet was to outwardly tell him what he wants.
"Jooin even gets mad that Yahwi thinks he knows better about what he wants than himself. " Jooin doesn't know exactly know what he wants, he said so himself this chapter. Jooin needs to figure that out first. He keeps pushing Yahwi to decide the status of their relationship, it's always: "What are we?", "Do you like me?", "What am I to you?" and Yahwi just hasn't reached the point where he can be honest about his feelings. He needs to be frank and say: "I want a real relationship with you. Do you want that or not?" if that's what he wishes for after all.
My point is, Yahwi can't cater to Jooin's wishes if Jooin doesn't tell him what he wants. That's their whole problem. They keep misunderstanding each other because they can't communicate properly. Jooin is scared that Yahwi will reject him so he goes along with everything, and Yahwi can't admit his feelings and avoids the conversation Jooin wants to have.
I don't have much to say about your points because almost all of them are based on Jooin not knowing what he wants or him being somehow responsible for not saying he wants something formal... In a scenario where his love interest constantly acts like he doesn't want anything serious. But okay, I guess.
1. "Yahwi changed a little, but without Jooin communicating what he wanted, he couldn't do that much. We know what Jooin expected to happen, but Yahwi doesn't." As I said, after Jooin gave Yahwi another chance, he did it with the expectation of a formal relationship, and, okay, Yahwi apparently is beyond dense and needs Jooin to spell it out, right? When Jooin wants to discuss this aspect, Yahwi is always the one who cuts him off! Jooin is the one who constantly wants to talk about what they are to each other and his desperation to be with Yahwi leads him to accept the bare minimum (as you said), which it's extremely annoying to see. Yahwi is the one who doesn't want this conversation to go further and this goes to prove this isn't only miscommunication. It's a lack of commitment.
2. "Jooin doesn't know exactly know what he wants, he said so himself this chapter" Where? He does know, he wants a formal relationship but Yahwi's attitude is the reason why he is getting confused if it's worth it. For that reason, Jooin needed to hear what exactly the are to each other, if Yahwi even like him. And he got? Nothing. Jooin is not scared of rejection, for that reason he ask about Yahwi's feeling and his silence by itself its rejection. That's why he left. Why Jooin would lose his time again for someone who is not willing to risk anything for him? Yahwi expects Jooin to be as narrow minded as him about their thing because he thinks Jooin is "intelligent", that's why he doesn't think the conversation about what they are is necessary.
3.
3. "I gave you what you wanted" This phrase will always be annoying in any type of media. Even Jooin doesn't know what he wants (which he in fact does know), Yahwi will surely know less. The "kindness" (what he wanted) that Yahwi gave Jooin was only to keep him happy and continue with their sexual relationship without problems. Not once he has asked what Jooin really wants and when he wants to talk about it, he will be cut off if his wishes go to something "unnecessary" or "inconvenient". That's lame.
We clearly see things differently, so agree to disagree.
One more thing. It seems like you think I tried to pin the blame on Jooin which wasn’t my intention, sorry if it seemed that way. They both share the blame imo, and I’m not denying that Yahwi doesn’t have the best approach to things and he’s the one who worsened their situation by avoiding certain topics. Still, I believe that his actions are still in-character considering his past. While I’m irritated by it, I understand where he’s coming from so I can put up with his bullshit.
And about Jooin not knowing what he wants, in today’s chapter, after Yahwi claims that he’s doing everything Jooin wants, he thinks to himself: “I don’t know what I want. Are you sure you know that?” They aren’t official translations, but I doubt that the essence will be too different.
Yeah, but that's okay. I kinda do love discussing with people who disagree with me lol
I read a different traduction, where Jooin thought: "What I wanted..? Are you sure you know what I wanted?" And that honestly gave me a different vibe from yours... So I'll just wait for the official translation. You did give me the idea that somehow is Jooin's responsability to make Yahwi get his priorities together and I'm glad it was not your intention. I'm still getting used to that, somehow, in love triangles each team see the story very differently lmao Anyways, thanks u for sharing your point of view with me.
Oh? If your translation is right, then I really played myself lol You could be right, tho! All we can do is wait for the official translations and if I'm wrong, then imma take some things I said back.
And you're right, we all interpret the story differently and our opinions tend to clash frequently, but that's really fun and interesting for me. Thank you for this conversation!
