The novel was really short actually. Like 30ish chapters. I didnt like how Cael went about it but I understand why he did it kinda? But i also get why Hestia reacted the way she did
Her exact words:
“Diana must be happy. The second lead protected her until the end.” "In the relationship between Kaelus, Diana and Helios, I’m just an irrelevant third party" “Of course. Kaelus was giving everything to Diana from the original…”
Thats how she felt. It's true that she was too obsessed but she felt embarrassed coz the nobles knew she's after diana yet her husband saved his old flame. It's humiliating. It made her feel like she's not supposed to be in this world. And i get her. Cael knew how his wife felt and he weighed his options for the kingdom BUT he could've communicated with her early on. If i were Hestia I'd be embarrassed to show myself to high society. And if i feel like Cael still has affections towards Diana I'd actually crash out as well. Idk perhaps I'm used to reading about I'd-do-anything-for-you type of male leads in isekai fantasy romance. I'd actually rather have a yandere male lead in fantasy who puts their partner on top priority. Because although what he did was logical, it does feel like a betrayal still. In the back of your head, you'll probably think he still likes her you know. Or that you just shouldn't have messed with the story. But thats just me.
Also I'm saying it's not that bad coz everything actually makes sense. His decision makes sense and it's better that Hes looks more into their future as a purpose in her life here instead of just looking at them as characters and doing the revenge for satisfaction and then that's the end. So even though I didn't like it. It actually is still a good route to end the story.

I dont think theres gonna be a 2nd ml. Also someone said "girls and boys cant be friends" and i don't agree coz if a man says that, it would sound really sexist imo. I think it's a problematic mindset as well. You can definitely have friends of the opposite gender and play games with them. The problem is Akane has already shown that she's anxious about this so Yamada should be more mindful by informing.
But yamada is clueless a lot of times. and it's always been used as a plot device so idk i think the author has pissed off readers coz they've been overusing it now. but i think it's also to highlight akane's anxious attachment style (which also is a big problem but at least she recognizes that. persistent jealousy can choke your partner and she knows this)
idk how they'll resolve it but they better update soon. tbh i think it'll be a short arc. Coz for most other characters who liked yamada or akane, it was resolved real quick. Honestly its normal for Yamada to make the mistakes coz just chapters ago he was a minor with his first crush c'mon. He literally almost dropped a friend coz she was jealous. He's already proven himself loyal.

i get you!! i agree that some people are exaggerating the situation, but i also understand everyone's frustration (because exaggerating or not i think everyone is a little tired of this recurring trope) i also dont agree with ppl saying things like men and women cant be friends which also tbh, hasn't this manga proven that they can be (multiple times) because yamada still has female friends, and even akane has a childhood friend who's a man... but like you said, the author has been overusing this thing and at this point its honestly getting super annoying. like there's more ways of creating drama in a manga... constantly making similar situations happen over and over is tiring and all of these arcs dont add anything to the main story if that makes sense (tho i mean expecting something serious out of a romance manga is silly but there's also 100+ chapters so it just feels like dragging the story, and also completely unnecessary) and yes, hes allowed to make mistakes i 100% agree because no one's perfect but it makes it slightly unbelievable that a man who is shown to be so in love with his partner keeps getting into similar situations and isn't able to solve them as soon as they appear. because if it was different situations i would understand, but its the same thing happening... and tbh i can say this for akane too, honestly if i was her, by now i'd just get immune to things like this happening with yamada lol

yeah same. I'd actually get used to yamada quick. the author is probably running out of dramas to write about. unlike shounen you can just make up a stronger enemy with different superpowers, shoujo can be tricky to write. its almost always a third party bringing the drama. If i were the mangaka, I'd wrap it up soon lol

i agree,,, honestly romance shoujos (or tbh romance in general) doesn't have the greatest story stuff going on most of the time but like i think with a lot of other 100+ chapter ones atleast there's different things going on (even if its cliche) and not just 2nd leads over and over again and pls i hope so lmao because if they keep adding these possible 2nd lead drama stuff it would actually start feeling like a chore reading this,,, but at the same time i have a feeling this might be the last arc and we'll just get some fluff and stuff before they end it
falls hard and when they get attached coz their partner's kind/committed, they'll leave before they're left. It's interesting
