The uke couldn't decide between the two people who fell in love with him. He didn't communicate with either of them about it and avoided the problems. SPOILER* In the end, he decided he didn't want to choose and ran away. His decision probably shocked both unsuspecting parties and hurt both people, I wish that I could have some closure but I guess there really wasn't any in that situation. His cousin probably felt it was his fault for pushing him away or too far. It left me with a lot of questions about what happens next. I could spend a good bit of time thinking about what happens next. Did the cousin and the student meet up after? Did they blame each other? Did they ever stop loving him? Did they come to terms with each other? Did they figure out that what the uke did was toxic for the whole situation? Does the uke ever come back? Just a few things I thought about after reading. In conclusion, the story is about a toxic relationship with toxic people adding in some tragedy and some pain, a mixed mess of emotions, and finally an ending act of cowardice. This is sad and makes for some afterthoughts.
