so what’s wrong with this story you may ask? Well that’d be a whole packaged to unpack, and I don’t wanna remember, the problem is the way the story presents itself. So what we’re supposed to forget everything the prince did, cause what he was a affectionate deprived spoiled brat,? he felt threatened by mc and all that she had?, he a man of privilege should be forgiven cause guess what he was dumb prince who got manipulated? . What the story is conveying is that a women should be okey with rape, should be okey with the abuse she suffered in the first timeline cause guess what, in what life would a victim re falls in love with her abuser? Only in the world of novels. I’m using re fall in love cause mc never fall out of love with that piece of shit.
The abandoned empress is rooted deep in misogynistic ideologies, and what’s even worse the character i hated the most is mc herself, I’m not even gonna do her the favor of using her name. What was she? I feel like I should do a character Analysis on everything that was wrong with her. she has to be one of the worst fmc I’ve ever came across. Sure the first timeline was a poorly written tragedy, the second timeline was even worse and I pity you if you defend the ml and sum up his actions on the note that “he was a child who need affections and got manipulated”.
Ew just thinking of this trash of a story is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

If I remember correctly (possibly not), the author tried to justify the cruelty of the asshole with him being poisoned, so he had "mood swings" and all that jazz. So he disliked the MC, but all the heinous acts were committed under the influence of that poison... what a fucking joke, but whatever. It's over and I had fun hating on it. And with all the character and plot flaws, the art was very pretty and the dresses were amazing. Hopefully the author can reflect and improve on her many not-so-nice biases and come up with better stories for her next project.
I'm still waiting on a complete asshole MC which his author doesn't try to justify or turn around, a complete unrepentant and unchanging piece of shit to hate without contemplation and to enjoy every step of his demise.

The Message of this is literally "live your life to be this man's wife, get betrayed, raped, used and abused, lose your father and your mind because of him and when you have a chance to escape all of that, try giving him another shot because he's a changed man and surely he won't do the same things again" -- I cannot stress this enough but this is the classic and most basic abuse victim mentality that leads to IRL deaths! This may be a fantasy story but this is not something that should be put into anyone's mind! It's f*cking TOXIC and honestly disgusting.
It's honestly funny how I have read other works where the characters were written to be the most vile and disgusting ones possible, even the main ones, and yet this is one of the few who has garnered such hate from me and most definitely the one who garnered it in the shortest amount of time. Author needs to stop fantasizing about abuse and how "everyone can change" and understand that while that is true and people can change, that doesn't mean they shouldn't suffer some consequences for it (justice is different from karma). Trash prince might be an alternate TL version of the one who did those horrendous actions, but the fact that Idiot Lead barely even seems to care about it after living through, dying and then having God intervene on her behalf to give her a second chance is the gravest problem of all.
Looking at the bigger picture: this means that everything the Idiot Lead went through was ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY in order for her to go back and put into effect the chain of events that would "redeem" the asshole.
That's not redemption for the Male Lead; it's just damnation for the work itself.
My final rating:
2/10 for pretty art -- I at least respect the artist who had to endure this shit and put this garbage into form and color.

Again, this story honestly left a bad taste in my mouth. It’s trash, trash at it’s peak. Yea the first timeline is a tragedy but a poorly written one. The second timeline is even shitter.

The “It wasn’t really me who abused you, babe, it was the drugs” is reminiscent of alcoholic abusers and I don’t buy it as an effective plot device. It is not only cheap—it is also dangerous, as it conditions readers to slowly accept this kind of insidious behavior in real life. The pre-timewarp emperor was not erratic or “not like himself”; he clearly calculated his actions (e.g. speaking sweetly to Jieun, sending her away, and switching smoothly to threatening Tia) and was in control of himself. He made the conscious choice to force himself on Tia. I feel as though this drugs arc is being introduced because “I abused you because your mother protected you instead of me, boo-hoo” wasn’t enough to wash the taste of pre-timewarp emperor out of our collective mouths.
Also, I don’t understand why Tia constantly flip flops between “I don’t want to be empress” and “oh no what if I can’t be the empress :(?" I understand if she’s concerned about the political sphere but if that’s the case then she’d be a lot more practical about it rather than “oh no why does my heart beat so fast around my past abuser”. Oh but wait no he’s not the same abusive guy you knew before, he’s nicer now. And he’s not taking harmful substances anymore. He won’t do all that again, baby. He’s changed, because you’re better than before. He was like that because you weren’t good enough then, but now you are. It won’t happen again. Give him another chance. I mean he planted a kiss on you out of nowhere but that doesn’t mean he’s the same guy who invoked “marital rights” by pinning your arms to the wall. It’s not like this kind of red flag behavior emerges gradually and insidiously like that. He disrespects your choices by wishing that you’d become his empress instead of inheriting your family’s title, but isn’t he so sweet for doing that? He just loves you so much!
How disgusting.

Oh my gosh. I was thinking the same thing. If anything, I’m rooting for Carsein because he’s the only one seeming to be in good mind and cares enough for Tia. But considering how the plot’s progressing, she’d definitely end up with the emperor who hurt her before and we have to just accept the very abrupt reason, “oh, he was poisoned that’s why he did those horrible things”. Although, I’m also a hypocrite since I’m still interested in the series and knowing how it’ll all end xD

There wasn’t really even redemption for him, he just saw her as a human (so romantic ( ̄へ ̄)) because she was RIGHTFULLY afraid of him and she fell for him just cause of it. Sis had two perfectly good MLs to pick from and chose the shitty 3rd.
Sadly it’s so reoccurring in manhwa and just any story where the ML is just rapey af and the message for guys is just ‘harass the lady until she loves you back, even if she hates ur guts, harassment is key!’. It’s shitty cause as a reader, you shouldn’t fear for the MC’s safety from the ML ヽ(`Д´)ノ
God this!!!!! This story was so bland and poorly written when you look at how poorly developed the MAIN leads are in their characters and interactions. The side characters were more interesting. It’s so disgusting to me when these type of stories end with the girl going back to the toxic shitty guy because they “had a change of heart” after interacting for like 5 minutes, and somehow weren’t traumatized from their past life events.
