only one character gets memory loss and two other reincarnate with no memories of their past lives. i wouldnt really say multiple characters do

704 and San have both experienced memory loss… or am I missing something? Eunjae obviously reincarnated with no memory of his past life, but I’m not really talking about him. 704 is not a different person than Yoon-wi, but he doesn’t have Yoon-wi’s memories. And, San is still San even after losing his memories of Eunjae.

This will contain spoilers—just a heads up!
So, Yoon-wi never reincarnated. When he died, he asked to become a reaper to pay for his brother’s sins (his brother would later reincarnate into Eunjae). A reaper maintains the same body and identity as they had when they died, BUT they lose all memories of their previous life. 704 can officially reincarnate once he’s finished paying his dues as a reaper.
As for San, yes, part of his memory loss is that he doesn’t remember his life before becoming a goblin, but I was referring to his more recent memory loss. San reincarnated, BUT asked to keep his same body and life (meaning he gets to come back the same age he was when he died, he gets to come back in the same time period, he still has his spiritual sight abilities, and he’s supposed to retain his memories as well). It hasn’t been revealed why yet, but San seems to have only forgotten about his time with Eunjae (he remembers Guemsun and 704).

It does, but like a good one, if that makes sense.
Not as nonsensical as "trauma once for memory loss trauma again for memory return"
