I finished it and feel very dissatisfied with disappointment. I’m no expert, but this comic suffers from the lack of character development and good motives that drive a plot. I have ideas that could improve the story as this story has a really great premise like the demon world, half-demon main characters with the goal to going back to the demon world, and then a childhood friend being in love with your demon side but dislikes your human side is a really fun idea. The execution was poor and horribly rushed leaving out key developments. So how I think it should’ve gone (this is just my opinion) is that the Mujin and Eunil meet again but under bad circumstances like a bad day at work with a series of unfortunate events resulting in them being in a poor mood. They talk for the first time and just leave bad “first” impressions on each other. There would be a work party to celebrate Eunil joining the team. At the party they both now have negative images of each other so now they interpret each other’s actions of being hostile in some way. They don’t get a long by any means. Now we bring in Lewellyn like original author did. We have the story be like the author’s for a good portion but simply add in more development for Mujin and Eunil. Like have them work on a Settia project together and see that they have misunderstood each other. They both want to be friends and start over their current relationship. Have the development of the present bring forth past by having them hang out and retell stories they had as kids by saying “remember when!” and “I remember when you would do....” Have them tease each other and shed away their initial distaste for each other. While having meet ups with Lewellyn, Eunil should go through a heart confused state. Have him grow to really be attracted to Mujin and Lewellyn leaving his heart confused on who to pick. When the similarities cross between the two and Mujin coming out to him about it, he realizes they are the same. He’s happy they are the same because he felt icky at the thought of leading either of them on. The end. The childhood “you left me and I’m mad” motivation should not be a motivation. The use of “the people I love always leave me and so I should stop loving” is a great premise but this story didn’t do that. There could also be a back bone growth for Mujin and have him leave Eunil for the Demon World like he wanted to in the first place (that’s if the development of Eunil not being worth it came about) or him struggle whether or not he should leave
A lot of people have said that this was cute, but mediocre. I agree with that because I thought it had a good build up until the end of chapter 3 and then it falls flat for me personally. I feel like there should’ve been more showings of Akira feeling good being with Shogo and his debate to bottom. I liked the fact that there was a lot of consideration for what to do in the relationship, but what about with each other? I also don’t get why yaoi jumps straight to anal sex. Building up to anal would’ve been great. I also see why people feel that Shogo was not a good seme and I think it’s because the author didn’t establish him as a important figure for Akira. Akira says he warms a room up just by being around but that was after sex, what else is there to Shogo? To me a good seme regardless of appearance is someone the uke trusts to be vulnerable with. We lack the reason why Akira is vulnerable with Shogo. Shogo would be been a good bottom because of his trust and admiration for Akira. Does Akira trust Shogo? Does he even truly love him? That is what makes him a bad top
