I hate how people keep reducing seo-in to red flag and yeongwoon a pushover. The author has provided us a lot of backstory and context behind their actions. People in the real world do experience these things and their manhwa is simply trying to show a glimpse of how broken people act in these situations. Seo-in’s trauma, which clearly stem from his abusive family background, is clearly manifesting in his actions. Nothing is ever his and for the first time, he’s found someone that he wants to keep only for himself. Seoin doesn’t even have a birthday for himself, even that was taken away from him. So it’s clear why he’s very possessive of the things he value, especially yeongwoon. And yeongwoon acts that way because he’s always had to just take abuse from people he loves. His dad and now even Seoin. Not to mention, he doesn’t want to lose Seoin again. He’s clearly very traumatized, like buddy was out here having panic attacks and needed medications to get through it. I feel like the author is really working hard to show the psychological aspect of the characters and here we are, so focused on just their actions and not trying to put over selves in their shoes.

I wanted to add that most of the time obsession stem from fear, not love. Seoin had lost everything the moment he was adopted. He thought he had gained his mother’s love but even he realized it was never there to begin with. The fear of losing loved ones often cause people to distance or isolate themselves but at the same time, constantly monopolize or obsessed over that individual. It seems like Seoin is experiencing this behavior. He very much love Yeongwoon but the lines start to blur where love begins and obsession begins. This is why his love is very toxic because it’s mixed in with fear and obsession. Whereas YW’s love is a lot more pure as he’s never had to experience the loss of someone (when he was younger) but now that he’s older, he’s experiencing similar behaviors as Seoin (since he’s experienced loss).

Thank you! I wish people didn’t jump straight into black and white thinking and gave this story the nuance it deserves. Both of them are the way they are because of their trauma. They haven’t had a chance to actually heal. Seo-In is in incredibly complex character. Is he toxic? Yes. For a good reason? Also yes. Can he use his trauma as an excuse for his actions? To an extent yes because at this point in the story he isn’t self aware yet. He isn’t purposefully using his trauma as an excuse for anything. Same for ML. He’s a pushover because of the abuse he gets from his dad. He associates violence with “tough love”. Once everything is aired out and they both have the chance to heal, it’ll be better for both of them. But in the meantime, we are on that journey of healing, like that’s the point of the story.

If anything, kudos to the people who didn’t experience rough childhoods or any sort of trauma that this story just seems so unfathomable. But fiction is fb perfect place to explore a different experience than your own.

And the author is doing a really good job at this, too.

why is he being annoying. he literally has a wife and he’s being unreasonable towards her and for what? the FL is practically married, just hasn’t had the ceremony. I swear if he changes his mind and starts acting all dramatic towards her and tries to get with her

AHH YESSS I LOVE THIS!!! I LOVE HOW EACH OF THEM EXPRESSED THEIR FEELINGS SO WELL

I think this is what she needs. She needs to settle down and realize her own feelings. The moment someone takes interest in her, she immediately settles for the guy. She’s so naive she took her boyfriend seriously, the second one was a major red flag and she literally almost went with him, and her realizing that haru has helped her made her almost settle for him as well. Girlie need to find herself and get real standards. Haru is so cute tho.

Im probably the only one who feels this way but I feel like both the ml and fl has no chemistry. Like it’s dry AF. He’s just always there randomly when she bout to be hurt. The author tries to make the fl so weak that she needs the man in every situation. I get that she’s pregnant but the author makes it seem like being pregnant means you’re helpless.

LITERALLY she doesnt need a man i hate when they make the girls weaker just for the ml to protect them arghhh

Anyone know how many chapters this will be? Also maybe spoilers?

I swear, ml exists and doesn’t do what the audience wants and suddenly, he’s the utter shit. Then the second ml comes and tries to pull that shit where the ml got hurt (and it could’ve been worse) and suddenly everyone’s rooting for that human being with a shitty behavior. People really have low standards lol. Don’t care whether he genuinely likes the fl, anyone with the behavior of a garbage is gross. She needs a cute fluffy adorable guy who genuinely loves her and accepts her without some sketchy personality. The 2nd ml seems bent on having control and taking advantage of the fl’s confused feelings. He didn’t even like her before he saw that the ml and fl had a thing for each other, then he suddenly got jealous. And now he’s all over her. Uhh yeah no

can’t believe I read this til the end. I hate those two brothers so f much it literally hurts. The fact that she’s not terrified of them at the end just shows how unrealistic this bs is. How are they receiving no punishment at all. Make them lose an arm or two if they’re not going to jail or something. WHY WERE THEY FORGIVEN?

tiktoktoe January 23, 2021 9:45 am

Ok. But do y’all ever think about how CHEAP seungho is. Like if he’s gonna have NK work under him, shouldn’t he be paid? Not with a roof under his head and food but also through moneyyyy. Like poor boy is literally mistaken for a servant when he’s desperately needed by their master, whether it’s his art, body, or heart. Give him enough to at least buy himself nice clothes. Anyways, I can’t wait for how seungho is going to face NK in the next chapter.
