Some of the character designs are pretty interesting to me, like his mom kind of embodies reincarnated villainess, and his cousin too has a very strong personality that reminds me of nobara from jjk, which I feel like you don't typically see for one off side characters like that. Ironically it's the main characters who have pretty standard looks for this genre. I do like all the clothes though, so much variation in the male clothing and his mom is always wearing something nice with a straightforward, tangible design and not just like, something vaguely European and villain colored
Guys if you wanna understand the cultivation world I highly recommend mo dao zu shi (there's a manhua but I've never read it, there are free versions of the novel online but it's extremely well written and with footnotes by the translators)
The cultivation world is basically like China's version of medieval fantasy, they ride on swords like flying skateboards and can use magic powers, in some worlds the magic system is broken down further so people can only use certain types of magic "spiritual roots" and there are some schools "sects" that only teach certain types of magic, etc. If you train "cultivate" for a really long period of time you can become super powerful and love for a really long time, and the best people can even become immortal, without needing to eat or sleep. Sometimes people will cultivate in seclusion, which is as far as I understand basically meditating for years on end, though cultivation is a pretty broad term, just a means to an end which is the power, immortality, and separation from worldly things including emotions. There's also demonic cultivation, which can be considered like black magic.
So, in the context of this story- The protagonist is from a poor family and has very little natural-born magic talent, but sword immortal qin passes by and teaches him a few tricks which inspires him to go to one of those schools (sects) to train and learn how to use magic. But when he gets to the school the guy who helped him already has a personal student (disciple), which is wang yi, who comes from a well known powerful magic family and also has some kind of super special constitution (spiritual roots), and wang yi's supposed to bully the protagonist. Copying from a previous comment, because there's something searching for anomalies to destroy (wang yi), S0 sealed his memories until it's scanned this story and passed by.

Nah mdzs isn't good for Cultivation knowledge. The author used all made up sects, and it isn't heavy on terminology or Cultivation focussed at all.
There's a novel, "The devil venerable also wants to know" and that's pure cultivation

They weren't all public performances, I think he was freaked out because they didn't know each other back then (but it's been awhile since I've read, maybe I'm wrong) and some of those videos looked like they were taken candidly
The interviews are so cute, you can tell the author put a lot of love and care into each character even if they're the "bad guy."

That was amazing. The dialogue felt so natural, the "intelligent things" the characters did were actually intelligent (so much in, say, isekai, just gets explained away with magic or the primitiveness of that world combined with modern knowledge which is such a cheap cop-out), plot twists really came out of nowhere and the characters were great. The vibe of the story definitely changed over the course of the whole story, and some were better than others but it was almost always interesting. And somehow every chapter felt so long and satisfying to read. What a great story.
It feels like the art has improved a lot since the beginning of the series. I don't know if it's that I got used to the style, the wuxia world they looked particularly handsome with that style of hair...
