His obsession with her is more than just a sexual thing, it's about HER and the way she acts, he finds her fascinating and different, and is obsessed with who she is. this obsession is definitely a romantic one, but it's not the most important part for him, he values her motives and values a lot more than his romantic interest in her... it's very interesting and slightly disturbing but I love him so much he's so broken
I don't really know if it's a romantic one... actually I feel is more of an obsession with her having feelings for him like she did for her dead brother instead... like wanting her to cry because of him... because her love for her brother was the less deturped one and something he deeply desires...
