What the hell is this... OMG I'm soooooooooo freaking frustrated after reading and I'm only at ch 20. I wanna kick both of their asses(╯°Д °)╯╧╧
Can they stop assuming everything and just freaking talk to each other. I was expecting some kickass 'I'm not gonna let some disease take me away from my child or some shit', this is just depressing. I'm sorry but if I was engaged to either of them I would welcome that terminal disease (#-.-) free me from my misery

I don't think people here understand both of their perspective very well. Put yourselves in their shoes. Both are justified in their actions and reactions.
Though I would take riftans side more, knowing full well how risky and dangerous it is fighting monsters (they're not fighting people who may show some mercy to a feeble woman), I wouldn't want my loved one who's inexperienced and has lived a sheltered life ( as far as he knows maxi was raised as a noble lady who doesn't know much other than embroidery or stuff like that) to be anywhere near that battlefield. Not only that he's also very justified in keeping her away from learning magic as he's probably seen the life of mages, he may have also seen the dark side of it, and wants to protect maxi from it. In his own way he's protecting her the best and probably the only way he knows. He's not restricting her to learn everything, only things that might be harmful or dangerous to her.. he wants her to live happily and be safe as he's lived every second of his life in danger. When you know how dangerous the world is you tend to do whatever you can to protect your loved ones. He's overprotective because he can't stand even thinking putting maxi in harm's way. He could tone it down a little but it's still understandable.
A lot of people also have a problem with his way of speaking, you would know if you're ever been around a man who's lived a very rough life, surrounded by other men only, their speech is on the rough side. They can't help it, it naturally develops that way. He does try to be soft spoken but when he gets angry it reverts back to his natural way of speaking. Tbh, considering his backstory if he was soft spoken like a sheltered noble man that would've pissed me off because it's clearly not how a warrior who has spent more time on battlefield than off it would speak. You're thinking of riftan like every other ML in other stories, he's not a Noble, he doesn't have a refined speech because no one ever taught him that, and he's quick to get angry because he's lived a hard life fighting one war or other. He's probably stressed and on edge all the time. He tries to be calmer around maxi, but it's not that easy to break a habit formed in younger years. He needs more time to adjust and realise that the way he's treated his comrades are not going to work with maxi. Give him more time.
When it comes to maxi, she's absolutely clueless about the way this world works because her father practically locked her in the house and mistreated her. She doesn't even understand her role as a noblewoman. No fault of hers, but riftan doesn't know and therefore it's creating this rift in their relationship. She's trying her best to learn but her husband's overprotectiveness is hindering her growth. She loves him very much and is willing to do whatever she can to help him because it's the only way she can feel at peace. The mistreatment in younger years left her with a very low self esteem, she probably feels if she's not useful she'll be discarded. And she wants to whatever she can to stay with riftan. That's why she goes against his orders and learns magic and accompany them on this rough journey. It's not as simple as just wanting to be with her husband, in her own way she's showing her love, concern and usefulness. She also hates being treated like a fragile lady, because that's how her father wanted her to act to seduce riftan. She's rejecting that role so that she can grow out of her trauma. And riftan isn't helping. Hence all the fighting. If I had a loved one risking his life at a battlefield where there's no guarantee he'll come back safe from, and I have the power to increase his chances even if it's the slightest increase, it would be very hard to sit around and be depressed. I would embark on that journey as well. Because I want to do whatever I can to protect him too.
Their relationship is actually one of the best depictions I've ever seen. It's so real and human. It wasn't prefect from the start, they weren't all lovey dovey and understanding of each other. Neither of them are prefect characters. They're working through their shortcomings, learning and growing. I'm really looking forward to the next season. Just know it's gonna break me ╥﹏╥

You understand. I have re read this series a million times. I have come to this same conclusion as well. Like I still don’t understand how people can just classify Riftan as a hot head oaf and Maxi as a weak person, when they prove time and time again that’s not all they are as people. The relationship is so raw and not perfect which people expect from most manwha relationships. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I know a lot of people here wouldn't understand and his explanation behind his sulking was childish but it does raise a good point. They can spend time as parents but they also need time as a couple. If one role suffers because of the other the imbalance can be detrimental to the relationship. Like they discussed they need to set aside some time to grow more as a couple so that they can grow stronger as parents as well. I've watched relationship fall apart after kids grow up and their need to be parents is gone, what's left behind is a forgotten relationship and now they're too old or too set in their ways to fix it. The woman feels more comfortable in her role as a mother and the man is just lost, wishing for someone else's company. It's better they give each more time along with parenting. Children grow up in a healthier environment that way.

A hard agree. Like Frede had pointed out, Ayla wants to do everything with the kids which is again great that she's so invested but at the same time it neglects her and Frede's relationship. I mean yes they will stay together and eventually the twins will grow and move out but what about the two till then? Plus she's a working mom. Hope she hires a tutor or a nanny so they can have cute little dates and relax.

But why does every grown woman in this manhwa looks trans. Does the artist not know what grown women look like or something. It catches me off-guard when a new adult female character is introduced but they look like men wearing gowns and jewellery. Save me.(⊙…⊙ ) (/TДT)/

Where the heck did I use trans as an insult. Are you daydreaming or what. All I said they look trans, so according to you someone looking trans is an insult. I never said it was a bad thing or anything. Why do I have to say words you want me to say. Do you like getting offended, is that your fetish. What does my bl have to do with this. Gay people and trans people are not the same. You woke people have to make a deal out of everything. I can tell you don't have any intellect to understand someone's message, you saw trans and got triggered. Well stay triggered honey, I will say what I feel like. Good day

Just to clarify before any other sjw attacks me here when I said they look trans I didn't mean it as an insult., sorry if you guys found it offensive. I meant to say that these characters look both feminine and masculine at the same time with no clear distinction. It was a comment about the artsyle. It was just an observation. Not an attack or insult towards trans people. I said they catch me off guard as I expect a female character to look like female but here it doesn't. I have no issues with anyone from any community, I only have issues with rude ass punks who think they can take offense on other's behalf and with no manners at all attack them online and feel good about it. If someone finds my post offensive simply state it like, "hey I don't like how you framed your post it might offend someone" and I would've clarified how I didn't mean any offense it was just an observation on my part, sorry that it offended you. And peacefully we could've ended the conversation like civil people. I have every right to say what I want and so do you. But we can still be civil about it.
If someone still has any issue let me know politely, I will also politely apologize and clarify any issues you may have. THANK YOU.

Thanks for the knowledge, I couldn't recall this term. I'll gratefully use this in the future. It's a good story and I've been reading it for a while, it's just the pacing and art style could use improvement. It's my first time encountering this issue in a manhwa that's why it caught me off-guard. You'll know when you see it. Lol

Oh dear I guess I couldn't convey it properly. I was genuinely thanking you for telling me about the same face syndrome. I wasn't berating you. I know you had no bad intentions. Please don't worry, if anything you helped me learn something new. I really didn't know that this has a proper term. So what I meant was that I'll use this term in the future so that I don't offend anyone or cause any issues. Your comment helped me a lot so please don't worry. THANKS (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

You're correct in saying that I can't decide what offends someone, no matter who they are, this applies to everyone. Just like you, checking my page, declaring what's in it for the entire comment section offended me which is why I had to defend myself in an angry mindset. All those obscene manga that you saw are in that reading section because I want to avoid rereading them by mistake. Normal bl covers and porn bl covers don't have much of a difference so I've put them there for a reason. Just to clarify, I don't have fetishes of any kind as long as it's a good story I'll read anything. If the synopsis and cover looks interesting, i open it to read but some of them have no story it's just porn so I separated them. You shouldn't have checked my page regardless, and form judgements either. That's invasion of privacy, is what I want to say but there's nothing i can do to stop u either, unless you know how to make my account here private then please let me know. I'm pleased to know you are part of the community and rightfully defending yourself.
As for my comment, I really didn't mean anything bad. I said it like I saw it. I've met trans people in real life and I know what they look like and these character gave the same look so I said what I said. I never used it as an insult it was just a straight forward comparision of 2D & 3D. I didn't use too masculine instead because they don't look too masculine all the time, they still have some feminine features it's just that the artist is drawing them in a way that I can't tell which side is more prominent. In some angles they look feminine, in some masculine and some it's unclear, I just thought the word trans would cover all forms, make it easier to understand what I was trying to say. I'm sorry it offended you, it was not my intention. I was commenting on the art style, and with a lack of words and understanding I said what I said. Thanks to Sato I now know this is called same face syndrome so I'll be sure to use that from now on to not offend anyone. And I'm glad we could sort it out. Peacefully. Thanks for not raging, most people would get even more offended and start a fight. The last line that I wrote, now that I'm rereading can be offensive I guess. It was just a joke, I thought would be a little funny to add at the end, I'm sorry. It was not my intention to hurt anyone's sentiments. I just wrote what I felt like.
I hope we won't have anymore misunderstandings or anger between us. I meant no disrespect to any community. I hope you have a great day. Peace (=・ω・=)

Nah because I understand your point. But instead of masculine they look more stereotypically western instead. Like, we have the manga-ish art style common in manga, manhwa and manhua. Big eyes, smal mouth, pointy chin, etc... that we are used to. But western comics are more realistic, both with face shape and proportions. Usually the men in manga-ish art style get more proportional as they grow older, the women to, but much less. They keep the eyes bigger, full lashes and pointy chin. They just didn't do this with the women in this comic, which does make them feel more masculine and kinda out of place...
I honestly don't like this comic... idek why I'm still reading it... ...no... I know... I like the Duke, Michel and Hessaros... un... yeah... I read because of them. Anyway, I like how adults look like adults in this. Except ml that looks like an adult when he's a teen... I think the artist has dificulty drawing teens and young adults...

That's a really good explanation. I'm not that well versed in western art style. But I understand your point. It's just the art style is creeping me out in random shots, like when they're talking and the side angle shows up, I'm like "okay, what is this, what am I looking at, idk even know anymore" I'm trying my best to keep the right gender in mind but then the image is not helping at all. Lol(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
I learned from other comments that the age gap is not that big, but here with the art style the ml looks like he's in his late 20s and the fl just crawled out of the cradle ( for those who didn't get, I'm just joking). I otherwise don't mind the story, if only they did something about the artsyle. Hopefully it improves.

To the New Readers, This Manhwa is a Martial Arts, action packed, revenge story. The story is really good. These comments may make it seem like it's something else but please give it a try..
Also my fellow demon lord simps... I get you but calm down... The thirst in this comment section is too much. You're scaring the kids away
Why is someone from party 4 is absolutely okay when everyone has else important is bleeding or dead. Who are you Mr. Jeryll(⊙…⊙ )
