Can someone explain what's so great about Ariel anyway??? The Prince loves her as though she's this most amazing angel but so far all I could tell is that she's dumb, cries and whines for people to save her that it hurts my brain. Just. Why????
On a side note, DAMN DANIEL.
Major spoilersss

I read that Libertia (OG) was actually the one who technically made Ariel the way she is, because she's actually her little sister but with a different soul. She had to save her little sis (which is the MC) from an evil mage dood in the family (main villain)-- so she transported the soul of her sister elsewhere so her lil sis could live peacefully.
In a way, you can even say that Ariel's body is actually the MC's, but nobody knew but Libertia.
So the "novel" & "Ariel" was Libertia's way of at least connecting with her lil sis and looking after her. To save her lil sis from dying again in the modern world, she returned her soul and put it in her own body because she (Libertia) was already dying because of her disease.
Libertia wanted to give "Ariel" a good and happy life so she purposely chose Ariel's soul preppy and "loveable" that's built in the imagine of her lil sis, hence why everyone ends up "liking" her and why Libertia was antagonizing her, so more people would be inclined to protect her.
The only male lead I'll accept is Yulan. The Crown Prince is still a jerk. Vio tried so hard to get your attention yet you treated her like shit. Now that she doesn't give you two cents, you're suddenly all interested?? Boy no. You thought she was annoying when all she did was try to win your love. All I want to do is just hug Vio because she deserves the world.
All this hate on him is so unnecessary. I get that he was indifferent to her and neglected her but it wasn't like he was cruel to her. They got married for political reasons and most of the time he just couldn't understand why she was so obsessed with being perfect. The two of them barely speak openly with one another and her death having no large impact immediately is understandable. It's true he should have spoken more to his wife and while I understand how difficult it must be for her to be upfront about her thoughts due to the abuse she's gotten from her parents, her husband wouldn't be able to see things from her point of view.
He regretted it later on after reading her diary because he finally understood at least some of her feelings. He even wanted to annul the engagement for her sake so that she would be much happier marrying someone else. Him wanting to protect her now is simply a result of sensing that the Duke and his wife are the reason for her behaviour.
Also, what is up with this trope of having shitty ass parents??? Just. Why????
Right people really expect people to fall in love at first sight like they do when children stories but it takes time to build a relationship and that simply won't happen if they don't make contact but somehow the emperor is the bad guy for not loving the wife he barely knows and it didn't choose for himself
I completely agree with you.
Everyone's acting like the Emperor is a terrible person, when in reality he just didn't care about the Empress. And, honestly, there's nothing wrong with that???? The only time he was 'mean' to her was when he was a child and said her hair reminded him of cobwebs. Like, that's it??
And we know he did it, cause he was already in a bad mood about being, in his words, 'sold'.
These people need to relax.
Not only does it take time but it also takes effort which neither of them were willing to take. Being a perfect Empress is one thing but being unable to communicate with your husband is another. The Emperor didn't know how to interact with her and she didn't know how to properly convey her feelings. At least he wants to do right by her and wish for her happiness now.
Bitch that's not how getting your crush to notice you works. Do you want to be labelled as homewrecker for the rest of your life???
I can't get fully angry at Ryou. I know he should talk to Chigusa about what happened properly because at least it would put her mind at ease. People getting mad he's acting like a kid when he literally is a kid. It doesn't take away the fact that he should be honest since he's hurting his wife.
As for Chigusa, gurl you told him to keep your marriage a secret. I don't get why you need to when important people like his parents and the teacher knows about it. He didn't even want to hide it but did it because you asked him to. I do hope she gets to talk to Ryou and listen to his explanation. If she wants to be mad at him after that then go for it but please talk to each other first.
What if...... and this is just a what if but.....
WHAT IF SHE DIED ALL THOSE TIMES BECAUSE SHE WAS DESTINED TO MARRY HIM??????
I love her so much.
i had a similar thought,,,, like what if she's destined to be with him, and all the life paths she took where she wasn't with him resulted in him souring as a person until he staged a coup and waged war?? and she's looping until that war that maybe wasn't supposed to happen is prevented?
I also thought that, however due to my own imagination to romance I'm thinking that the prince started the war to look for our FL since the prince where invited to the soiree and learn of her banishment but didn't thought of her being killed through the process,...
I mean its still sad to know she died all those times even if that was the case. I wonder if perhaps he had met her even before then and fell in love at first sight or something.
Ooooh that could be a possibility too. I kinda wanna know why she keeps on going through this loop and how many times she can loop. Cause just imagining your death coming each time could make anyone anxious.
Really...my thought is the opposite. She's going on all these loop not because she died, but because the ML died....ok now I'm stuck with my theory
Oooh it does seem that way too but most of the time we only know that she kept dying during the war so we can't tell if he died then too. I do like your theory too~
