While I'm sorry about his life so far, that doesn't excuse him for treating his wife like crap. She didn't even know about her brother's plan and to be fair, she was sold off to you because you needed a frigging title so the least you could do was be nice to her. You don't have to love her but just be nice. She lost her father, her brother and even her kindgom had betrayed her and now she's living away from her family with a husband who abuses her. He may not have harmed her physically but verbal abuse and neglect is still ABUSE. I reaaaaaaally don't want him as ML. But we all can't have nice things.

It's so stupid of them to blame a child for the death of their beloved mother. It's not as though she asked to be born or attempted murder of her own mother. It was death at childbirth! They don't deserve her attention now and they don't deserve her forgiveness. I hope they don't die so easily because that's just an easy escape for the inhumane treatment they caused a little girl. She deserves to have her revenge against the empire and against her family.

I don't mind that Yustav keeps track of what Ran does because he has to make sure her safety is secured. We already know that she was almost taken advantage of before and anyway, he will be the next head. If he doesn't know what's happening in his Duchy while Ran is in charge then it'll be harder for him to take counter measures should trouble arises in the future. She's business savvy and has knowledge of her past life but everything is moving differently from the novel and she has zero talent for defending herself. If I were her, I'd take whatever help I can from Yus. He has already proven to let her do as she likes anyway without questioning her. But if he's kept in the dark all the time it would be too late if something happens to her.

She should have slapped BOTH cheeks once and then again just for good measure. I mean you gotta make sure she understands it.
Also, I know this is probably an unpopular opinion but I'm actually glad to see that the Emperor is at least trying to make amends. What he did was wrong even if he was a victim of abuse. As long as you continue to grow and learn from your past mistakes, I don't think that makes you a bad person.

I mean.......... she could do more than just a slap. A sword could just magically slip from her fingers too if she tried hard--- she could be like OOPS MY HAND SLIPPED.

It's tough to fully condemn him when he's actually trying to at least be civil with the Empress. I do understand why she refuses him so I wish him all the best.

yes, i agree with the second comment. I myself am a victim of abuse from a young age and I also was an abusive friend, but I'm still trying to fix what I have broken and to become a better person. The people I've hurt don't want to see me anymore and I understand that, so we both keep doing our lives. I just hope the emperor respects the empress' boundaries.
That slap was satisfactory but gurl hit harder.
