The two are perfect examples of someone who’s moved on versus someone who’s stuck in the past. Misuzu found his person, his purpose, his reason to move forward. This guy needs to as well, but the motivation gotta come from within him. Poor Misuzu probably sees his past self in this guy and tries to help but it’s not always that simple. I’m glad Kitahara gave him a stern warning though, and how mature he is to let Misuzu fight his own battle, but he’s always ready to step in if things go south. That’s a real man right there! God, please grant me a Kitahara!
