As far as I understand why u said this. It sounds dumb. She is no where related by blood to the emperor and neither is he So as far as I know there’s nothing wrong with it. And wym age difference??? 18 and 27 she is an adult, not illegal and when u already reached adulthood, your partners age shouldn’t be anything but a simple number. If you are the type of people to care about someone’s age, then u just quiet sad.

I hate that girl that clinging to him despite knowing that he is married but the whole cousin thing is not universal. In many places round the world (in today's world) , marrying your cousin is perfectly normal and is not incest at all unless they both were raised as siblings (drinking same breastmilk etc....). Not of great importance in this story but I think it's worth pointing out.

I can guarantee that a 27-year-old does not see an 18-year-old as an adult. It's like how a senior in HS dating a freshman is still predatory. They're both still technically minors (or adults in the manhwa) but there's still a powerplay going on due to their age gap and because of how they are at different points in their life. You also aren't fully mentally developed until you're around 24 years old so this age gap is definitely still predatory at their age (or at least should be from an outsider's perspective since she's mentally older than that). However, he doesn't know that and she still has the body of an 18 y/o so it's still sus that he's starting to catch feelings...

What bothered me with your statement though is how you excused the age gap. I'm fine with others being ok with it in this fictional scenario and continuing on with the story, but excusing it is different.

the mindset you expressed regarding their age gap is dangerous if you apply it to the real world and can cause actual harm. I don't know if you're one of these people but I have noticed that for some people, their values tend to transfer over/express themselves in the media they consume and vice versa. To me, it's kind of like how distant cousins don't really share any blood but they're still related. Like your cousin's cousin or like if you have an adopted cousin. You aren't blood-related but you're still related, you know?

That's definitely worth pointing out! I'm 100% coming at this from a Western/Japanese perspective so I'm happy that you shared yours.

Right now, my perspective is that no matter if they grow up as siblings or not, cousins are still blood-related/have a familial bond. Because of this, I would still consider it to be incest. Also, the main problem w/ incest is that there is an unfair power imbalance between the people involved, which is abuse. One example of this is grooming. Another thing is just that they're blood-related.

Also, because of this being my current perspective and because you brought up culture, I would like to mention (from my perspective) that sometimes there are parts of tradition/culture that should change w the times. For example, I'm Japanese and there are many sexist traditions in Japan that should change. One such being how women aren't supposed to enter the sumo ring for being "impure." This was a huge issue a few years ago after a female doctor entered a sumo ring to save someone's life (i think he was having a heart attack, I can't exactly remember). They had to "purify" the ring afterward before they could restart the match. There are many more traditions like this.

However, I would love to gain more perspective so if you could share which cultures you are referring to exactly, that'd be great. I'd like to look more into it to learn the cultural thought process/perspective on the issue. I'm always open to learning more.

Also, this doesn't really apply to the situation in the manhwa. It's a bit more complicated and kind of weird, ngl. I haven't really come to a conclusion on how I feel about it yet. The situation w/ the FL and ML is just like, is it incest? is it not? it feels incesty but like, is it?? you know?

I don’t believe she was behind the assassination attempts but I think she starts disliking the empress out of jealousy- ( despite the empress literally saving her a bunch of times too ).

I feel like it more of a speculation... according to manwhas I’ve read there’s a high chance that she’s not a good person. First, despite having the emperor being really loyal to her, they haven’t done anything yet. The emperor is being lead on and controlled by her. Second, she has weird connections with people who are trying to harm the empress. And there’s also a time where she had an emotionless face (which her servant saw) when her most loyal servant was being punished. This was totally out of the character she’s trying to portray. Definitely not the kind and empathetic lady people think of her as.

But the only time she was out of character was in defense of the empress. I will be very disappointed in the series if they make my beloved Lady Lyn into a villainess （￣へ￣）

from what I remember Roxanna leads Cassis into the secret passageway and he escapes. To make sure he escapes w/o question she uses her butterflies to create an illusion in front of her father that shows her butterflies killing Cassis. The intruders weren’t actually Padallian but I think monsters that escaped from their cages or something. 3 years pass and they meet again at a banquet with all 5 families in attendance and is where The Agriches are surprised that Cassis is still alive.

THE ANNUAL RECONCILIATION MEETING
[ For context: The Annual Reconciliation Meeting is held by the 5 families. It is 3 days? long and there is a banquet every evening]

On the 2nd day Roxanna can't sleep and is walking around the castle. She sees someone get off a carriage in all black and mistakes that person for Dion. She is annoyed and walks away as she sees the person walking towards her. With her back towards him, she tells him to basically fuck off. He answers silently by walking towards her and puts his coat around her. She realizes that it's not Dion.

On the last day's banquet, the Agriche's see an alive Cassis and are very shocked. Roxanna sparks doubt and tells Lant that the Pedelian's could've used a doll that looks like Cassis (insinuating secret exchanges from the Pedelian House and the Veritium House). Lant goes to find Noel (the head of the Veritium House) for answers. Cassis finds Roxanna w/ Dion and they introduce themselves to each other (like they're meeting for the first time) and he kisses her on the hand, she then excuses herself to her room and he puts his coat around her and says she doesn't have to return it either (hope the lightbulb clicked).

AGRICHE'S FALL
Lant, Dion, and Roxanna return home bc of news of Fountaine's (oldest Agriche son and Roxanna's half brother) rebellion. Once Fountaine is caught, Lant punishes him gruesomely in front of Dion and Roxanna. It narrates how Lant hates traitors, and right after we ironically see the scene of Roxanna betraying him and how everything until know was all orchestrated by her. He is subdued and asks Dion and Jeremy for help, but they are both more concerned about Roxanna's wellbeing making Lant dumbstruck. Roxanna doesn't kill him just yet though. Cassis and his men invade Agriche. Although everyone is fleeing, they don't engage in slaughter. Cassis kills Fountaine who was trying to escape and finally gets his revenge by killing Lant. Once the Agriche house was finally in ruin, Roxanna leaves the house and is about to pass out and die due to her unable to control her butterflies anymore. But Cassis saves her and takes her to Pedelian. On their journey there, Roxanna has become weaker and is mostly unconscious and therefore is unable to control her poison. She remains in the carriage as to not harm the others, and her and Cassis kiss a lot (for healing purposes, but there is one scene that gets steamy though). He tells her that if she doesn't care what happens to her now, that she should stay with him and give her the remaining time she has to him.

PEDELLIAN HOUSE
When they arrive at the house, they live in a separate annex (due to her poison) and are basically flirting and kissing (to heal) the whole time until they do the deed.

There's a scene where Roxanna is walking in the garden w/ Sylvia and Cassis uses his magic to keep the flowers alive for Roxanna due to her poison killing them all (I thought that was pretty cute).

There's also another scene where Roxanna has a dream where she's back at Agriche with Dion and Lant. She wakes up to to the feel of someone touching her face and thinks it's Dion bc it's dark. Cassis gets jealous and pins her down and asks if she wants to go back and questions their sibling relationship bc he finds it strange (for all you shippers out there, Dion doesn't like Roxanna that way, but does care for her). He tells her he won't let her go and will bring her back if she goes somewhere, then he kisses her.

The next day, Roxanna wakes up and sees Cassis taking a stroll with Pandora.

[ For context, Orca is one of the OG protagonists that loves Sylvia in the novel and is the OG tamer of the butterflies from House Pherion. Orca followed a herd of Roxanna's butterflies w/ Pandora due to curiosity and is why they are currently at the Pedelian house ]

Pandora is interested in Cassis, but when he sees Roxanna, he automatically walks towards her leaving Pandora behind. Roxanna, in front of Pandora, has a vague misleading conversation w/ Cassis (making Pandora think that they slept together ... I mean not yet anyways). In response, Pandora asks Roxanna to accompany her for a stroll with just the two of them. She tells Roxanna to back off bc she likes Cassis and uses magic to attack her. But Roxanna easily defeats her w/ her butterflies and tells Pandora that Cassis has always been his and was already his during thee first time they met, not realizing Cassis was there. Roxanna wonders how long he's been standing there and he hugs her. They walk back to her room and one thing leads to another. He lays her on the bed and asks her "I'm yours?". After she confirms his question that literally turns a switch in him. They do it for a while (deep kissing, biting, the whole shabang) and he finally realizes that Roxanna is exhausted and instead of reflecting on his actions he tells her that she gets tired too easily and to build up stamina (this little shit lmao). She responds w/ tf it's just that you're not normal, but can't argue bc she's so tired. He pulls her closer to hug her and as Roxanna is slowly closing her eyes this mf asks if they can do it one more time and she is speechless and wonders how he has energy left, she tries to resist but gives up and the scene ends with her topping him to his displeasure lmao and they do it until... well you know. (me wondering how much the manhwa will censor lol)

[more about Orca, he is curious about Roxanna and plans to kidnap her when Cassis and his father leaves for a meeting, in order to know how she tamed the butterflies. Cassis one step ahead, kills Orca who is waiting right outside the Pedelian territory]

Btw, the chapters about their reunion kind of depends I think. Like for example, in the WMMAP novel, Claude was supposed to be AWAKE ALREADY. Like someone said the novel is like only 5-10 chapters less and then he wakes up. But in the manhwa, it's soooooo slooooow. So, there's a chance of it being held long. Since novels and manhwas have different... time something--? idk what the word for it is ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Yeah that’s true, but the manhwa has been depicting the novel exactly so far so I guess we’ll have to see. There’s only 209 ch in the main story and 40+ ch side stories and we’ve already covered up to around ch 50 so this could all end in minimum 100 ch w/o any side story adaptions unless the manhwa team wants to take a WMMAP route and prolong the story a bit further
