this is my new religion it literally changed my brain chemistry. I saw a lot of people saying this is mid but I'm someone who has to enter in the characters' minds when I read smth and this was so challenging and overall really good. the whole part where Haumea explained why extinction is the only way to free humanity and trying to understand why she acted in certain ways literally made me use 100% of my brain. I loved the part where shinra goes to the past and sees our world and gets shaken by this sight and I loved even more how they portrayed it in the anime cuz they made it longer and even more uncanny. I loved the whole explanation of how shinra and sho were born from a virgin pregnancy and so the fact that shinra is literally what we consider Jesus, a savior, and that sho is his guardian angel who has to show humanity that shinra is not a devil but a hero. I do admit that I consider the fight in the space a bit too much but I still very much loved the whole fight and how Arthur came out to be a very important character, while in the anime till now he still looked kinda like just a dumb character who happens to be kinda strong, instead he's one of the strongest and the reason the main source of despair was eliminated, so in his own way a light of hope. the fact that he also stayed waiting in the space feels kinda wrong but I'm not gonna complain about every little thing I'm not gonna hate just because of this detail. also the whole revelation about the mother being the evangelist's doppelganger so the literal representation of hope was peak cinema. her entrance when hope was lost and shinra was enraged by Obi's death was spectacular. what I also really enjoyed and thought about deeply was the fact that all the characters that were made to look divine were actually the ones who saw salvation only in death and destruction, while the characters with devil-like appearance were the ones who believed in humanity and that salvation could be reached with other means. some might think that the end was boring or rushed but having followed the story of these characters for so long and having loved them as much as I have I would have been so hurt and sad if they were to actually die and not come back. so as much as it may seem a cliché that they all come back, I'm still very happy that they're finally able to live the lives they deserve after everything they went through. I also really enjoy the fact that the world of soul eater is as weird as we know it because it was created whole by shinra and so only by what he knew. what he did not know looks weird and crazy because it comes from what he thinks some things are, like the fact that the whale looks off because he doesn't exactly remember how whales look cuz he has never seen one, and that's also why there are many casualities and strange creatures in the new world. kinda sad they don't have their powers anymore but it also feels right, the death god is right, those were powers way beyond smth that humans should have and without those powers there was also the certainty that people would not ignite anymore. I love the fact that Excalibur from soul eater comes from Arthur, it shows like this how much of an important character he was, it was not only thanks to shinra if we have Soul eater. introducing soul eater's details bit by bit was also genius, I love how since the Adolla was coming closer things started to look crazy, like the moon being the grinning moon and also black stars appearing or the fact that when shinra, sho and the mother merge in one body they show their united soul like they show souls in soul eater, that is a soul with the distinctive characteristics of shinra with the pointy teeth, horns and creepy smile. seeing soul eater's characters as babies also fills me with joy I love them so much and the end makes me think that the whole fire force story is being narrated by maka's parents to Maka, so that it is a legend being told about a kid who then became a god. I saw so many people saying how fire force is bad and even more compared to soul eater but I love them both dearly and I think that fire force is the best out of these two. both stories are good but fire force is a lot more complicated and requires to stop and think about what you're actually reading. it's not smth you read half heartedly like it seemed from the beginning of the story, where it was just firefighters fighting these fire monsters, it is a whole lot more complicated and interesting. understanding every character's mentality and believes to also understand their actions and words was really challenging but a challenge that I really liked. I already loved fire force from the anime but after reading the Manga and the ending this is now my religion. also I'm atheist but the whole religion theme caught my attention very much.
