Yeah parents should try to support their children no matter how different they are from others. Well except if their child has done something wrong and even then they should tell it what it has done wrong and what's the right thing to do. Not just ignore it.
Another thing I hate abt my dad. He thinks just giving me things I need makes him a good father when as a matter of fact, it doesn't. You also have to support your children and not has light them into thinking they're nothing without you. My dad didn't even care enough to think of a name for me. He just found a name off of a list. He's so full of himself and would rather abuse his child than hurt his pride.

I hope your dad will become better but I think you should maybe talk it out with him cause he may not know that what he is doing wrong. But I can't really say that it will work out since I don't have such problems and I actually like my parents.
I tried opening up to him once and I got gaslighted once again. I said I was feeling depressed and he said "You're not working to pay your own tuition, you shouldn't be stressed!" and when he left I just broke down. I cannot be bothered to talk to him. He should get therapy. (He also hits me, my sister, and our dogs)

I think it’s bc its the cause of Lin you’s illness or smth like that?? That’s my kind of theory. Since as soon as he got that talisman and protection talisman he’s been getting gradually better. But what’s it protecting him from?? What I’m also curious about is the cause of his illness, or what it is in general? Does it have smth to do with dream demons, is it just his nightmares or smth else?? And it’s still unknown y a demon that looks like Yi Rui shows up in Lin You’s nightmares ahhh! Im just confused. So many questions but we don’t have enough info to answer them yet.
