I didnt like how Yaku said I love you to Hino. It totally seemed insincere and not even 5 pages before, he was still bitter at asano and was using hino. I dont know... it just didnt feel right to have yaku say ily in that situation. I think it wouldve been better if it was in an extra or something
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one when I saw the "I love you" scene I said out loud unconsciously "no you f**king don't" yaku just pisses me off.......he is like oh this guy has liked me for years and I'm acting like the bastard who hurt me. Yeah no shit I don't think he even really apologized.....

I wouldnt say i hated yaku completely though. Yaku and Hino entered that arrangement with the knowledge that it was purely for pleasure. Hino knew what he was getting into, he knew how he felt for Yaku, and he still accepted those terms. Theyre both consenting adults. If he got hurt (hypothetically) bc yaku says he doesn't reciprocate his feelings, then thats entirely hino's responsibility. Hino had his reasons why he entered that kinda relationship and so did yaku.
To me, what made yaku seem like a jerk was the ily alone. Coz, hino seemed happy being able to just say ily to him so freely, and yaku just.... says it? It felt to me like he was expected to say it so he did, but he didn't actually believe it himself?? It was unconvincing and seemed to belittle Hino's feelings for him.
I guess for me it was more his sudden change in his feelings for hino.
I hated that hino allowed Yaku to treat him like that but for me what made me upset is how easily Yaku got away with treating him bad. I mean I've read a lot of friends with benefits but I guess what upset me is like you said was the "i love you" and sudden change.
I guess I wanted Yaku to feel a little pain he did to Hino I felt like he just belittled Hino's feelings

Hanae was the soul of this manga and i know im supposed to be happy that theyre together, but i cant get over the fact that akira and hanaes last interaction was of Hanae telling him that she was his friend now. And im sobbingggggggggggggggggg.
Yall need to step tf back. Nanae did nothing wrong. She helped Ken because the poor boy was on his knees begging for her help. She lied to Taku bc she knew that Ken was right. He wasnt going to take the necessary steps to follow his dreams as long as Taku was convinced he had to protect Ken. For those of you saying that this wasnt how they should have handled this, yeah. Nanae did not act entitled at all. She does not deserve the disrespect youre throwing at her. She had the right to slap taku like she did. He tried to manhandle her first (which can be argued as assault), then he started screaming at her. For what? For not being with ken? For prioritizing her own happiness by choosing glasses guy? She did not deserve the verbal vitriol that taku was spewing at her. She did not deserve to be made guilty by taku just because taku himself couldnt do the things ken did with nanae when they were in high school.
And what do you mean she knew about taku's feelings? She didnt! She explicitly said in the first few chapters that ken's ONE SIDED LOVE was getting old amd that he should just confess. She spilled everything to taku at the end because she likely felt too guilty about the whole thing. She was dragged into a situation she never asked to be a part of by ken. She was asked to lie to the people around her several times by going along with kens whims and pretending to date him. She VERY LIKELY snapped at taku during the phone call bc she and ken were no longer together and taku didnt know but expected her to still be there for ken.
You see how that is? See how these two boys put her in a situation so difficult that her default reaction, instead of lying like it was nothing, was to snap? She was under immense pressure from these two boys that she completely panicked and hid behind her boyfriend the moment she saw taku. She knew that taku should have known about whats going on with ken. But she also knows that ken wouldnt want her to tell taku bc the whole reason they started the fake dating thing was to convince taku that taku can go to tokyo and leave ken without worrying. IF SHE TOLD HIM ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH KEN, THEN WTF WAS ALL THE LYING SHE AND KEN DID FOR? In the end, the pressure got to be too much for her and she ended up spilling everything to taku (whose feelings are still unknown to her btw)
Just say that ur one of those people who hate the girl in stories like these bc u see them as a hindrance to your otp. Because if you actually read the same manga, and tried to understand the character's motivations, you would understand why Nanae did not deserve the shit she got from helping these two.
